What do you mean by that?
The site has been received in the category you quoted.

No one has yet made a decision about it (if indeed they have even looked at it yet).

Sometime between now and infinity an editor will look at the site and decide if it meets our requirements for listing and list, move, or decline it as appropriate.

Is that clearer?

To tell you the truth, we really don't know what people do with this information either. But they keep asking...

When you're deciding what to do to promote your site, submit it to the ODP, then ...pretend the ODP doesn't exist and decide what to do next.

Another Request

I got a message from a DMOZ 'employee' stating that this site won't be listed because it offers 'no value to the internet.'

I ask you to look at the site again and reconsider that. Some of the sites in that category are far from 'valuable.' Also, some that do offer good content are not there at all. This site is one of the few real estate agents websites that has some serious content for the community and the internet.

I have volunteered to be an editor for this category twice I believe, with no repsonce.

DMOZ doesn't have any employees. Only volunteers who give their opinions in a personal capacity. The site is waiting for review and someone will look at it objectively and in accordance with our guidelines. It may be accepted, it may be rejected, there is no point in anticipating the outcome one way or another. You can ask for a further update in 6 months if you don't see it listed by then.

Your "local information" seems only to be a series of links, I was expecting more, never mind. And the news doesn't seem to be news, more what I would call tips.

I have volunteered to be an editor for this category twice I believe, with no repsonce.
Have you visited the section of this forum that deals with editor applications?

Just Checking Again

I have done significant changes to the site and am asking for another review of the issue. Now the pages are more dynamic with content the changes constantly.

Please let me know the status.

No review will take place as a result of a posting in this forum and the chance that the editor deciding to review the category would see this post is slim (it does happen just very rare) at best. The purpose of the forum is to confirm the receipt of a site suggestion and/or its acceptance or rejection. If you think your site has significantly changed since your previous suggestion, then you can resubmit it (once) to the category and note the changes that were made.

Keep in mind that the new suggestion would overwrite any previous ones. An editor reviewing based on suggestion date (some do and some don't) would let the new suggestions sink to the bottom of the suggestion pool and work on the ones that have been floating near the top for awhile.

Actually you can do better with the description. http://dmoz.org/guidelines/regional/realestate.html#descriptions tells you how and the version you submitted looks like the one with the big red X next to it.

Normally what shadow575 says is absolutely 100% correct. When a description is wrong an editor will correct it when they get to review it. And resubmitting overwrites the previous version so it can in some circumstances act against you. However, this is an exception and I can promise that if you resubmit (one more time only) using a proper description as per the reference above it will do you no harm whatsoever, it may even help the editor, and therefore you. We've even helped by making the examples local to you personally ;)

For information, your colleague, Marika Edwards also has a site waiting, and you have an XML feed waiting too (I don't think that has been mentioned so far) which will probably be dealt with at the same time as the site.
