Hmmm... ollie, if you reread the question you may see that he submitted a "new description" for the entry, I guess as an "Update URL" request. [Checking... Yes I'm right]

The request is still waiting for someone to process it with more than 100 other entries that have to be processed. I didn't touch it, since I normally don't edit there, but to me the old one seems quite OK from the editors point of view.

Yes, it is listed, and as I mentioned, I am trying to get its current description "Developer of web-based applications and e-commerce products for finiancial institutions." updated. I followed the link 'Update URL' on the category page and submitted the form for this request.
I had provided a more accurate desciption of my website on the form as well.

When is my request likely to be actioned?

Well, the word financial is spelt wrong in the description and this seems to be displayed as part of search results in so many search engines. The scope of the website is a lot wider that what one understands from the current description.

I appreciate your checking the queue for me, though.
I also noticed, that the category needs an editor. Does that mean it will take another couple of weeks, at least? Thanks for your time.

Oops! Didn't notice it was an update...

As for how long it will take, I would say that a couple of weeks is the minimum it will take to get listed. A couple of months is more likely, unless there are super-active editors in that part of the directory.

I fixed the typo in the description.

Your update request is still in the queue for an editor more familiar with the category to review.

I had the chance to look at search results for i-flex on dmoz again. The search results indicate a match under:
- Open Directory Categories, and
- Open Directory Sites.
Now, for some reason, the typo persists in the one-liner displayed alongside the link under Open Directory Sites. (However, the typo has been fixed in the page that appears as a click to the category).

Can this typo be fixed fairly quickly?

Thanks!

The search results are compiled from the listings in the category and, therefore, any changes in the category will be reflected in the search results in time. At the moment, the search system (when operative) seems to be updating weekly - so if you give it a week or two, your site will show up correctly on the ODP search.

Remember, however, that we do not have any control whatsover in how long it takes sites such as Google, Netscape, AOL et al to update their copies of our categories.
