THe url redirects - as you say - to my personal ISP space. This however is purely temporary and plans are in hand to transfer the site to a commercial ISP (no redirect) probably in about 2 months. Is this kind of thing normally a problem?

Normally, the actual site URL is listed. This avoids people putting up 50 sites that all point to the same place and expecting each 'front door' to be separately listed [I realise that is NOT the case here, but it IS the reason for this policy].
There will be no problem with your entry as long as your NTL site contains text saying something like 'we have moved to...' when you do make the move. This makes it a no-brainer for an editor to know that someone expecting an editor to replace foo.com with bar.com really is the owner of both sites and is not attempting to hijack a listing.
So, NTL will probably be listed and updated later on, after you 'move'. I do not edit anywhere near where you submitted; these are general comments.

Do also note that the original submitted site URL will be automatically stored in the editors note, if/when it is changed to the actual site URL now. So, it can be easily changed back when editors find the site has moved to the intended final URL.

You'll excuse me, I'm sure, for disagreeing. Submitters should submit only under URL's which are appropriate for listing in the directory. No "vanity URL's" which frame their pages, no redirects, no doorways.
Submit the *actual* URL. When you move to the new site, set up a redirect for the page listed in dmoz, and use the "update" feature to submit the new URL. If the link is not updated prior to a Robozilla run, when Robozozilla checks the link it will automatically record the redirect for the editor who checks the error.
