Hi there, I submitted the url www.justwaiheke.co.nz to the following section 'Regional: Oceania: New Zealand: Auckland: Localities: Waiheke Island '

I didn't see any movement with it, so re-submitted. I also submitted subpages for specialised pages ect.

I now realise that my submitting several subpages would have lowered my chances of getting listed. I would like to remedy that...please help with advise

Charlie :)

One copy of your suggestion awaits review in the indicated category. If you haven't seen it listed within a few months, feel free to check back here for status. Should you do so, please reuse this thread rather than starting a new one.

Re: Would really appreciate some help please :)

Does this mean that they have got my submission and I should not re-submit?

I submitted to some subcategories as well. Do you think this hindered my chances of getting listed?

Other sites that submitted after me have already been listed, so I am a little confused to what is actually holding the process back...is there any way you can find out?

Thanks Alot

Yes, that's exactly what I meant.

I submitted to some subcategories as well.

Some? More like "quite a few".

Do you think this hindered my chances of getting listed?

No, only perhaps delayed it. Your suggestion will be reviewed based on an editor looking at the site.

Other sites that submitted after me ...

We often don't review suggestions in the order received. Easy ones (including both obvious spam deletions and obvious good suggestions with guidelines compliant descriptions) are frequently reviewed quickly.

Your site is still waiting to be reviewed in that category. The unreviewed queue in that category is small. Due to the volunteer nature of the directory it is impossible to give you an estimate of the time it will take to be reviewed. If you like, you can check back for another status update in a month. If you do, please bookmark this thread and reuse it for that query.

Thanks.

Re: http://www.justwaiheke.co.nz - please help

Hi there, thanks so much for your comments, and taking the time to look at it. I am just a little frustrated, because I really feel my site is a really good one for that section.

I was told a few months ago, to wait a couple of months, and this I did, so Ireally feel that waiting another month wont see any changes. It is really hard becaus there are a couple of sites similar to min i.e. www.waiheke.co.nz that have 56 listings, and www.gotowaiheke.co.nz that has 25 listings and I have been trying for almost a year just to get a single listing. If you have a looka t the site http://www.justwaiheke.co.nz you will agree that it is a really useful site, and fits all the guidelines of sites submitted to dmoz.

How od listings like the ones above get so many listings? Are they editors?

Anyway, i would really appreciate someone's help with this.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.

Sorry, it's still waiting. NZ needs editors, so you can always volunteer to help out. Try somewhere small first, and you can work your way up to the larger categories - try wherever you live as a starting point, and look for a category between 30 and 100 sites in size. (Dont apply for Waiheke_Island/Travel_and_Tourism as there are too many waiting for a brand new editor)

Other sites such as waiheke.co.nz have multiple listings because they host sites on subdomains/subpages that are standalone sites for the businesses concerned.

Sorry I can't offer any quick fix for you.

Well thanks anyway for your help.

What do you suggest I do now...just wait a month. What happens after that if I haven't been listed yet.

Thanks again

I really appreciate it.

You will have to wait for however long it takes - I'm sorry, but there is nothing else you can do. It is the same for everyone; we can't give preferential treatment to sites because the submitters ask here, it just wouldn't be fair. I know it's frustrating (not least since I'm waiting to have a site reviewed myself!)

The "one month" rule applies to questions in this forum - ask no more than once a month to give us time to edit. Thanks :)

Hi there, just writing back to see if anyone has had the chance to look at my submission. It has been a month, and I still don't seem to see it listed under the above category.

Could somebody please check.

Thanks Heaps
