Hi,
I submitted my site madiandcompany within the past couple of weeks to the Business:publishing and Printing:printing:Invitations and Announcements section of DMOZ and it looks as though an editor has visited my site. My questions are 1. How long does it take to be listed and 2. If I just added a page title today ( didn't realize I didn't have one) would that effect the initial listing or should I re-submit?

The editor deleted your application because, at the time of review, most sections of the site said "coming soon". You may reapply as soon as your site is completed (or at least nearly completed).
 

Thanks a lot for filling me in. I am surprised it was deleted because I only had 2 sub-categories that were "coming soon". Anyway...thanks again!

Well, I don't work in that area of the directory. If I see a site that has ten categories, and one or two of them are "under construction", but the rest is fine, I publish it.

But believe me, some people send applications for sites where only one or two categories work and the rest is "coming soon". In this case I leave the application in the unreviewed for a month. If the site is the same a month later, then I delete it. But obviously some editors are a bit stricter than me ...

I don't think the site contravenes the rules on Yahoo stores, but you may find it helpful if someone with "the knowledge" in that area made an input here on your site.

The very site of "Yahoo Stores" can sometimes cause rejection

It seems odd that it being a Yahoo! store may cause rejection. A lot of other Yahoo! store owners are listed in the directory so I am hoping this is not the case. <img src="/images/icons/frown.gif" alt="" />

It's not the case. Just_Browsing is not an editor, and what he / she really meant to say was "It seems that ...". Most editors will look at Yahoo stores more closely than some others, because they often turn up with very little content, or purely affiliate content. Any 'business' that's hosted on a free server needs a bit more investigation. Firstly because it may get kicked off at any point, and secondly because it indicates the owner isn't very serious about their business.

My fault, I've always assumed Yahoo Stores was free, since I couldn't believe that anyone would actually pay Yahoo for a service. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

Either way, whether it is or isn't free, no editor would delete a site just because it's a Yahoo Store.

I am to lazy to search for it right now, but some time ago I tried to point out, that this could propably (by mistake) make an inexperienced editor think its an affiliate site of yahoo. Maybe someone thinks, yahoo does something similar to Amazone or Ebay <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />
Or in other words: Having the logo of a well known company might lead to a false delete - all humans here. So its nothing to really worry about but in some special cases might explain a deletion.. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />
