We have repeatedly been submitting our site for the past 2 years (www.point2.com), with no results.

Recently, the editor for the category that we were submitting to contacted us and said that we were submitting too often, but still wouldn't give us a reason as to why we weren't being listed. Would anyone happen to know why?

We're at a loss here.....we're not sure if perhaps someone who worked here a few years ago possibly wrecked our chances of being listed by spamming or something. How would we be able to find out?

We have also been trying to get a number of other sites listed as well on odp, such as www.point2dozers.com and www.point2backhoes.com. I realize that they look quite similar to www.point2.com ....we are in the process of changing their look. Could it be for this reason that these pages are not being listed - because they are similar to www.point2.com?

No, it's not the look that bothers us. It is the fact that they are all just doorway pages for access to the same database schema. Changing the "look" of the pages will mean that they would be no longer considered "vanity doorway domains" -- they would then be considered "fraternal mirrors."

Fraternal mirrors are less popular among editors than doorway domains, because to the aroma of spam they add an appearance of deceit.

Maybe I should clarify myself a little bit. We're not only changing the look of the doorway, but we're changing the whole website. We're including more useful information, and new sections, making each page unique. The equipment search will only be one small fraction of the site.
