Hello Editors,

We have submitted 3 sites sometime in the spring. Before the submission I carefully examined DMOZ policy to make sure
we'd follow all the guidelines. When in doubt I posted questions and received answers from the editors. See our discussion below.

I was assured that our plan did not contradict DMOZ guidelines (as long as content at each of our sites is unique and different).

We are still patiently waiting for the acceptance. Any word would be much appreciated. We have put a lot of efforts in our sites. DMOZ acceptance would be a great morale boost for our editors.

We licensed ONLY "casino directory" from them which represents less than 5% of the content (this can be verified by emailing their webmaster). The rest - 95% - ALL original content.

old_crone, you are a good detective <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> That's not what I'm saying. They own a minority interests in our company and we have an option to buy them out if we choose to do so.

We develop content (except their directory which represents less that 5% of our own content)

Maybe nothing, I'm just curious, since I do not see any unique content. What I do see is a lot of link referrals which is typical of any type of gambling site/portal.

Maybe you can answer another question? I'm sure an ODP editor will get around to asking it eventually. What is your affiliation with www.searchking.com and/or www.searchkingportal.com ? Any of your unique content from one of these?

Oh, feel free not to answer, I'm not an editor here. The info is really for the editors that do work here, so they know where to look and what questions need to be asked when reviewing your submissions.

Wrong ! Our sites (the sites that we developed) - do not have affiliate links (except one on the front page)

The links with "?" are NOT affiliate links. We have a database driven back-end. Each article/listing has its own unique number which allows us to quickly locate/edit/delete
articles.

Again, they are NOT affiliate links. We make money through advertsing and sponsorship.

I must be going cyber nuts. I could have sworn I saw casino/gambling content that's offered to anyone who wants to setup a gambling protal - even has "Your Name Goes Here" or something like that at the top of the template. Go figure.

old_crone, you're wrong again. SearchKing is a hosting company. They do not offer any gambling portals. If you want one you have to develop it on your own, from scratch! <img src="/images/icons/grin.gif" alt="" />

I hope that one of the editors will eventually post a reply in this thread.
