The site won't get listed in a Shopping category since it is (a) rental only (not sales) and (b) only delivers within Butler County, PA. I was going to suggest Slippery Rock, PA, but http://www.pifemaster.com/ (the company that operates the chocolate rental as well as other sites) is already listed in Regional.

In reply to your new inquiry: Your submission to Regional: North America: United States: Pennsylvannia: Localities: B: Butler: Business and Economy was rejected. Apart from the problem stated above (we'd prefer to list only the main site for Pifemaster Productions), I can't see an address in Butler on the site.

This site has NOTHING to do with the Pifemaster Productions web site. Yes, it is true that I own Pifemaster Productions (a disc jockey service) and I also own The Chocolate Waterfall (a chocolate fountain rental/catering service). But I do not see the reason that TheChocolateWaterfall.com can not be listed, simply because Pifemaster.com is listed.

I have a separate Fictitious Name Lisc. for The Chocolate Waterfall, which can be verified on the Pennsylvania State web site here:

There is absolutely no duplication of information between the 2 sites. Both sites contain unique information related to completely different services.

Both services are booked/sold independantly of each other.

Both web sites are hosted seperately. Each with their own URL.

Using your reasoning, Paypal should not be listed in DMOZ simply becaused it is owned by E-bay?

As for the fact that there is no mention of Butler on the web site, If you verify the phone numbers listed on the web site you can confirm my physical location. If an address is needed, I will gladly add it to the site. However, I am located in Butler county (as you can also verify on the Pennsylvania web site listed above) and have not attempted to submit the site to any other region.

After submitting this post I check my "Contact US" page of TheChocolateWaterfall.com and here is a quote from the first Paragraph:

"The Chocolate Waterfall is located in Butler County Pennsylvania. Please feel free to contact us if you have additional questions, or if you would like to book the Chocolate Waterfall for your event.

Note: We only offer local chocolate fountain service in Western Pennsylvania. We DO NOT service areas outside of Western Pennsylvania and we DO NOT sell Chocolate Fountains."

I agree with you that the two parts of your business are quite different. I think it might make sense to have another look at your URL, and I have attached an editor note about my opinion on this URL. When you resubmit, the reviewing editor will read it.

You sent your submission (that was rejected) to a category of the locality of Butler. Your site says that you are in Butler county. Adding your snail mail address would make it easy to see to for the reviewing editor whether your site belongs into the local Butler category. (I think it doesn't and Regional: North America: United States: Pennsylvania: Localities: S: Slippery Rock: Business and Economy would be more appropriate.)

Thank you for taking a second look at the site. I have a couple of questions regarding your response.

1) Are you saying I should re-submit the site? I do not want to hurt myself by submitting twice.

2) If I need to resubmit, should I re-submit to the same category? After looking at the more closely at the categories, I noticed a Butler County category ( http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Pennsylvania/Counties/Butler/Business_and_Economy/ ) would this be more appropriate since this is the area I service and the county I am located in?

Yep, feel free to resubmit - but submit to your actual locality (and it would make our job a lot easier if the contact information [location] was on the site).

Regional listings are, for the most part*, predicated on the actual physical presence. This would be the locality where your store/office/warehouse is located. Your service area is irrelevant for Regional categorisation.

We do not list sites in the county level categories unless they have multiple locations in two or more localities within the county.

The guidelines have evolved over the years so you may find sites listed at the wrong levels from years ago. As they are noticed they are moved to the currently appropriate category.

*Some types of services that have been discussed and decided upon as 'come to you' may be listed in county level cats, but for most businesses that will not apply.
