Just checking the status of this. Submitted in March or early April -- never got any word that it was rejected, does this mean it's still in process? Many thanks.

Please post your full information in this thread. That way, everyone will be able to follow the conversation. This benefits everyone because we will not have to check both threads just to know what has been said. B-)

Okay, thanks.

What I should have said originally was:

I'm trying to figure out what happened with my submission for www.weddingyellow.com, which was made 4-5 months ago. It has been a while . . .and I heard nothing so I'm not 100% sure of the locations. . . but I believe they probably were:

http://dmoz.org/Society/Relationships/Weddings/Directories_and_Guides/

http://dmoz.org/Society/Relationships/Weddings/Directories_and_Guides/United_States/

possibly also this one, which has almost nothing in it and no editor (which I understand might be the problem):

Thanks for any help.

It awaits review in the California subcategory along with around a dozen other submissions. Since that's the one best category, it won't be listed in any of the others.

If you haven't seen it listed in a few months, feel free to check again. Should you do so, please reuse this thread rather than starting another one. I suggest bookmarking it for that purpose, so you won't have to dig deeply to find it.

Thanks for your reply. Just to be sure I'm understanding correctly, are you saying I should wait an additional several months before checking again -- because I believe it's been more than 4 months already. Is 7, 8 months or more typical? (I'm not trying to be rude . . . and definitely appreciate that you guys are understaffed, volunteering, etc. . . . I have even tried to apply to edit this category and others, but because of your various system issues your mail system keeps bouncing my auto-confirm (argh!). Anyway, just want to doublecheck that 8 months is really the current best guess for how long it takes.) Thanks.

It is not unusual for sites submitted to a busy category to take months to be reviewed. It is unfortunate. Some categories get reviewed much faster.

Regarding your editor application, there have been some issues with mail being bounced back to submitters. The ODP is currently in the middle of a big hardware upgrade and some things are not yet operating at 100%. The ODP technical staff is working hard to fix those issues.

Please do not let that stop you from applying in the future. If you would like any advice or feedback on the process of applying to be an editor, there's a forum designed expressly for that purpose here at resource-zone.com.

Thanks for your interest in the ODP. {moz}

Thanks. I will continue to pursue my application; I'd like to help out.
