I trust this site is not DELIBERATELY a browser-killer?

Admittedly, the Infernal Exploder 6.0 (or is that 6.66?) is not what anyone would call "stable" or "healthy", but it has a lot of users (or is that victims?)

Also admittedly, I had more than two windows open, and that's definitely pushing the limits. And it had been more than an hour since the last crash. So it may not have been the website's fault.

But...you might want to check: ODP editors aren't REQUIRED to use a real browser, any more than human surfers are.

Followup: The primary assassin was probably a site in one of the other windows. This site just does something sneaky and sleazy that disables IE's "Back" button. Java or Javascript, perhaps, which locked up because the JVM was already torqued by the other window?

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean? The site is developed using standard HTML and it had no other intention besides bringing visitors to the site to know about the products we represent.

Which page are you referring to that you had difficulty on? I may want to forward to the programmer to take a look. When I open the site, it does not have more than two windows or other issues that you have previously mentioned.

Please advise.

Well, it works in Mozilla 1.1, not to mention Netscape 4.79...

Anyhow, the site is awaiting review in that category in a pool of fewer than 80 other sites. Please feel free to post again to this thread to ask about the status in a month or so.

[Added] Incidentally, I took it that your question about this URL meant that you would prefer to have it listed, rather than the mirror URL http://www.whirlpools-bathtubs-jacuzzi.com which was also submitted in the same category. That submission has been deleted.

Coding errors which result in the browser being unable to determine where the <head> ends and the <body> begins can crash the browser outright. Under a sneaky bug in the way things work, some systems interpret the first "/" seen after <head> as being </head><body>. This usually occurs when there are meta elements with a "/" inside but have the attribute value without quotes around it. This isn't quite the case here , but the attribute type-"text/css" , which has a "-" instead of a "=", may very well cause the same sort of effect. It is best to "quote" all attribute values. I hope the link is useful, and helps you to fix all of the code. Valid Code is not a requirement of the ODP, but if the editor cannot view the site, then he cannot review the site, so he cannot list the site. Ignore the errors like there is no attribute "FOO" as this is just warning about browser specific code. There are also loads of nesting errors in the code, which do need to be fixed. The link will point you to a list of them.

Thank you for deleting the other duplicating entry, it was done by mistake. We want to have www.whirlpooljacuzzitubs.com listed instead.

The site does not contain any illegal java code etc. to the best of my knowledge.

Thanks for the feedback. I use IE 6.0 and the back button does allow going back and there is no other windows opened. I have forwarded your comments to our programmer, thank you. We do want our site to be friendly to all types of browsers.
