I receive the following postmaster error message:

Is there an alternate confirmation method?

There's no other way that I've ever heard of.

The email addresses that you posted there look really odd. Make sure that when you reply, that it is going to apply@dmoz.org

From a post in a different forum, it appears the address being received at the moment is from apply@aol.net">apply@aol.net</a> instead of <a href="mailto:apply@dmoz.org. If this is the case, it has now been reported internally.

I redirected the reply to the dmoz.org domain address, and it seems to have posted successfully at last.

Did you get some kind of response indicating that your reply was received? I applied yesterday and after my initial reply to apply@aol.net">apply@aol.net</a> bounced immediately I tried resending it to <a href="mailto:apply@dmoz.org. It seemed like everything was okay until i looked at my mail server's sendmail queue and saw that it was still trying to deliver the message (getting a "no route to host" error to editors.dmoz.org).

In another thread I read that they are currently doing maintenance on some of the files involved in the application process... so you might want to give it a little time and then check on the status if you have not heard anything.

Hi Troy,

Several hours after sending to the dmoz.org address, I in fact did receive a delayed delivery notice to inform me that it would post on Friday, 25 July. Initially I thought it another unsuccessful attempt notice and so re-sent... twice . I found similar delay notices later.
