Yet another 'Suggestion' question

Hi all :)

I hope someone can help. I run an information/support website that I genuinely think is the #2 in my area (out of many) and provides my visitors with real help and value.

I have suggested my site to dmoz around 4 times, however this was when I first started out and had my head full of misinformed information on dmoz, and thought that having a dmoz entry was the only way to bring in traffic.

Since then, my site has matured and I have spent a great amount of time working on my site's content and design. With this in mind, I have a couple of questions:

- It's been well over a year since I last submitted my site and 95% of my site has changed. Should I now resubmit my site?

- If there are no moderators for my category, does my suggestion just sit there waiting?

- If my main competitor was the moderator for this section, do I simply have zero chance of ever being included?

- The exact category that I wish my site to be submitted to (like my competitors) no longer accepts submissions at that level, you need to drill-down to a lower-level to submit. If I drill-down to a lower level, the category does not really fit my site's subject. In this example, what should I do?

Many thanks in advance, sorry for the long post!

One more site suggestion won't hurt you. :)

If there are no moderators for my category, does my suggestion just sit there waiting?

Most categories don't have a named resident editor, but every editor in higher categories can and do edit in all categories beneath them, and there are 200-300 other editors that edit across the whole Directory.

If my main competitor was the moderator for this section, do I simply have zero chance of ever being included?

If there is no named editor, then how can they be your competitor? :D If you think there's something fishy going on, and you have some kind of proof showing that, please fill out an abuse form, we don't tolerate crooked editors.
But, it's more likely that your site didn't contain unique content, or it's still waiting to be reviewed.

The exact category that I wish my site to be submitted to (like my competitors) no longer accepts submissions at that level, you need to drill-down to a lower-level to submit. If I drill-down to a lower level, the category does not really fit my site's subject. In this example, what should I do?

Select the best category you can find to submit to, and the editors in that section will know where to place you.

Thank you for the questions, :) .

My pleasure. If there's anything else you'd like to know, please ask and we'll do our best to answer. Some questions we can't and won't answer though, ;) .

This FAQ may help explain the issue further: http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/faq.php?faq=faq_site_questions#faq_no_editor

No because any one of 200+ editors with directory wide permissions can and will edit in the category, not to mention watch out for such abuse and actively correct it.
