Zeal has closed down.

Many editors here must be familiar with the zeal directory. It was a human edited directory with quite a large community and large independent index. Owned by looksmart, owe be upon them, who decided that they could not even pay for the servers of zeal, zeal has now been clkosed down.

We have noticed that Zeal shut was shut down. Some of us were Zealots as well. If you have editing experience at Zeal and you found it fun to sort sites in categories + describe them - consider becoming an ODP editor. You will have to fill the application as ever<body else, but if you mention your Zeal history, it won't hurt you. Promised.

Well I applied twice but got rejected. Once bitten twice shy. But ill take my chances later.

Wasn't there a 20 question quiz or was that something else? I tried that site, but like the other poster, I only tried twice.

I was passed out Zeal questions and was a Zeal Editor. That was simple to won but dmoz. I have just tried once yet and don't have so much site to describe in the application form.

But will in future.
