Guest Posted September 29, 2002 Posted September 29, 2002 My site (url removed) has just been completed and I have submitted it to the appropriate category (shopping:entertainment:recordings:music:vinyl) and notice that the category needs an editor....having looked at the category some months ago, it has needed an editor for some time. Are site submitted to a category such as this one simply queued up until an editor is found? Thanks In Advance Dodgyvinyl
giz Posted September 29, 2002 Posted September 29, 2002 No, an editor with permissions in a higher category can edit in all those below that point. There are also Editall and Meta editors who can edit anywhere in the directory. Ask back here in 6 weeks if there is no movement on your listing, or email a higher up editor (bear in mind that most do not reply to submitters).
Guest Posted September 29, 2002 Posted September 29, 2002 Many thanks for the quick and helpful response <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />
giz Posted September 30, 2002 Posted September 30, 2002 Blimey! The only site I have seen this month that actually Validates. Not required to be listed, but your site is guaranteed to work in any browser, on any type of computer. Heh, but I guess you already knew that having taken the trouble to write valid, well-formed HTML code.
foetusized Posted October 2, 2002 Posted October 2, 2002 Re: Submitting sites to a category needing an edit Dodgyvinyl: I'm a meta-editor who is listed in the "parent" category Shopping/Entertainment/Recordings and I regularly review the submissions to that Vinyl subcategory since no one is listed there. I've not been able to get in to edit for several days due to to downtime on the ODP site (and some health issues) but I should be able to look at the submissions in that category within a week (if the Lord's willin' and the crick don't rise). That category does need an editor (I'd love someone to help out there) but that doesn't mean that it goes unedited in the meantime -- Foe
