apeuro Posted October 1, 2002 Posted October 1, 2002 Dmoz will be down for a couple of hours today for maintenance, so if you are unable to reach it - don't worry. Editors this is your oppertunity to take a break - relish and enjoy the experience.
Meta mngolden Posted October 11, 2002 Meta Posted October 11, 2002 Heads up! Staff is taking Dmoz down for maintenance 12 October from 0800-1600 PST (Los Angeles time; 1100-1900 EST or New York City time). During these hours it will be unavailable for *everyone*, both editors and users. Some editors accepted after 5 August 2002 have also been experiencing problems logging in. Metas and staff are aware of the situation, and steps are being taken (including the upcoming maintenance) to correct that. In the meantime, you may contact your local friendly meta to have your password reset. Those of you hungering* for something to do during the maintenance session, take note*! http://chefmoz.org/ (affiliated with dmoz) and http://musicmoz.org/ (not affiliated with dmoz, but like it ) are always looking for volunteers and submissions. Or you can relearn what life is like away from your computer monitor(s). We now return you to your regularly scheduled program... *No puns were hurt in creating this message.
apeuro Posted October 16, 2002 Author Posted October 16, 2002 Dmoz is down again today, and is expected to be down for the rest of the day today. Editors are invited to join us in Editor Hangout and Members likewise in the Member's Lounge. If you are an editor, but you can't access the Editor Hangout, post here to get your status changed.
donaldb Posted January 29, 2003 Posted January 29, 2003 Nothing official, but DMOZ has been experiencing a few problems over the last few days. If you're a user you'll probably be able to browse through categories but you might experience problems submitting URLs. If you're an editor you'll probably experience difficulties logging into the system. And if you do manage to log in you may not be able to access the internal forums or you will have problems posting in the forums. I don't know much more than that, but thought I would post something here for maximum exposure so people will know what's going on and that people are working on it
donaldb Posted March 28, 2003 Posted March 28, 2003 Not maintenance but there is a known problem accessing http://dmoz.org at the moment. Staff is aware of the situation and is working on it.
giz Posted March 30, 2003 Posted March 30, 2003 http://ch.dmoz.org/ can be used for browsing and searching, but please note there are no submit or edit functions on that site. Those are all redirected back to dmoz.org instead. It looks like dmoz.org is back on, but it is wise to be wary of it for the next day or two just in case there are any further lurking problems (keep a copy or make a note of everything you do).
giz Posted June 1, 2003 Posted June 1, 2003 Previously noted in other threads, but not yet here: There is now a mirror at http://de.dmoz.org/ as well.
