Submission ignored since 3-2002: balloontime.com

The following post was submitted several months ago and the only response I got was that it was "in the queue" and to "be patient". It has been nearly 7 months since my first submission which seems a little excessive to me. I have never had to wait this long for a site to be accepted, yet no one will tell me if there is something wrong with my submission or site. Can ANYONE help!!!???

I submitted the site balloontime.com on 3/26/02 to the category: Top: Shopping: Entertainment: Party Supplies: Balloons

and then on 6/5/02 to Top: Shopping: Entertainment: Party Supplies: Balloons: Accessories

Neither of these categories have an editor, so I contacted the editor for Top: Shopping: Entertainment: Party Supplies whose name is Lisa MacNeil and goes by llisa.

I would like to know the status of these submissions and if I'm doing something wrong that is preventing me from getting listed?

Thank you

Re: Submission ignored since 3-2002: balloontime.c

Old thread at: http://www.resource-zone.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=status&Number=3229

Your first submission was deleted, because balloontime.com is a sub-site of http://www.worthingtoncylinders.com/. Your second submission is still in the queue, though I suspect it will be deleted for the same reason.

If were the editor involved, I would be trying to list worthingtoncylinders.com, however I would be unable to do so as it miserably fails to work in Mozilla (and I suspect any other standards compliant browser). Let's hope it gets reviewed by an IE equipped editor.

I'm confused. The site worthingtoncylinders.com does not appear in the index either, and balloontime.com is not a sub site. This is a division of what the company does, but is considered separate. worthingtoncylinders.com is the parent company and their market is industry whereas balloontime.com appeals to the consumer market. How can I stress this difference to the editors?

I probably would have listed the balloontime regardless of being associated with worthington cylinders because of content and scope. I doubt anyone wanting a balloon filling service would think to go to an idustry based site such as worthingtoncylinders.com. However, I am not editing that category and it is up to the editor who reviewed the site whether or not to list it.

If it were me - I would resubmit the site, maybe give a pointer to this thread - and ask for reconsideration.

Balloontime.com also doesn't offer any kind of remote shopping (online, mail, phone, etc.) on the site, which is a prerequisite for listing in Shopping. All it does is describe the product and tell people to go to a physical store to buy it.

[added in response to previous post: It would not get listed in Shopping for the above reasons so please don't resubmit it there.]

motsa is correct - the site does not offer online sales so it does not qualify for a listing in Shopping. That is what I get for not spending enough time looking at the site. Sorry.

Retailer sites without purchase options (as motsa outlined), with what we refer to as a "bricks and mortar" location are sent to Regional. I recommend submitting your site *once* to the city in which the business is _located_ - this may be different from your service area. The reviewing editor will make a decision *at that time* whether they feel your site is worthy of inclusion in the directory. ODP editors are not obligated to list every site that is submitted.
