Corinne Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 I have tried and tried to apply to be an editor but dmoz does not seem to like applications from IE. I cannot put another browser on my computer because it causes conflicts. Please, please can someone advise.
Guest alnilam Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 What's wrong with IE when you apply? Do you get an error? Please post more information so we can help you.
Guest dargo21 Posted October 15, 2002 Posted October 15, 2002 Many people have had problems with IE and submitting applications. Netscape works fine, but if your computer causes conflicts, I'm not sure what you could do. If you have IE 5 or lower, mabye try upgrading to IE 6? Which IE are you using?
Corinne Posted October 15, 2002 Author Posted October 15, 2002 Many thanks for your help, I have solved the problem by getting my very techie friend to load netscape and kazaam there it was all up and functioning. I should have asked him in the first place. Sorry for taking up your time.
MsDetta Posted October 16, 2002 Posted October 16, 2002 Many people (including me) have experienced problems submitting the application using IE (I was using IE6). Mine went through immediately when I used Netscape. There seems to be a bug, and the ODP staff is trying to find its source. If you didn't post your problem, the staff would be unaware of it. You certainly weren't "taking up our time". Glad to hear that you got it working.
Guest rfgdxm Posted October 17, 2002 Posted October 17, 2002 I just applied using IE6 and it went through just fine.
totalxsive Posted October 18, 2002 Posted October 18, 2002 The problem doesn't affect all IE versions (I applied in IE5, for example... though this was over 3 years ago), but it seems that certain configurations of IE don't work with it.
