tteri77 Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 What a great idea, this forum! I had no idea it was even here. Here's my situation... I'm a graphic designer and I submitted my own site along with all of my clients sites to dmoz.com. All of my clients sites have been picked up, but not my own. I haven't over-submitted (or at least I don't think so) and I've followed all the rules, I think for submissions. I've been trying to get my site listed on dmoz.com for almost 3 years now on and off. Could someone please let me know the reason why I cannot get submitted and what I can do to change my status on your site? My site has good search engine positioning on almost all other search engines. Thanks for listening. My URL is http://www.tigrafix.com. Thank you so much! Anxious to be submitted, Teri

tteri77 Posted March 27, 2004 Author Posted March 27, 2004 Site submission for www.tigrafix.com Hi vbman... Thanks for reading my post, however, that doesn't really answer my question. Your response to my submission request was "thank you". Does that mean that someone will look into this matter? I have been trying for over 3 years to get listed on dmoz and as far as I can tell, there just is no reason that I shouldn't have been listed. I'm a web designer and I've submitted all of my client's sites and they've all been picked up, but not my own site. I can see now that this forum is packed with people wanting to know about their own submission status, so is there any chance that you, or whoever approves sites, can look into this and let me know what I need to do to get listed on your site. Thanks in advance... Teri

tteri77 Posted March 28, 2004 Author Posted March 28, 2004 Site submission for www.tigrafix.com Hi Bob... Thank you again for your quick reply. I see what I did wrong... Sorry about that. OK, here is the category I submitted my site to: http://www.dmoz.com/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Designers/Basic_Service/T/ And here is my URL: http://www.tigrafix.com. Thanks so much... Teri http://www.tigrafix.com T&I Grafix
Meta mcoupal Posted March 28, 2004 Meta Posted March 28, 2004 This suggested site is still pending review. No need to keep re-suggesting.. Thanks Curlie: Been trying to give up the editing addiction since day 1. :moz:
tteri77 Posted June 23, 2004 Author Posted June 23, 2004 Still my site is pending?? Hi... Well, I'm back 3 months later and still no word from dmoz. Actually, it's only been 3 months since the last time I submitted, through this forum; in reality, I've been waiting, LITERALLY, for 3 years for someone to look at my site. I'm actually pretty discouraged as a few of the sites I designed have been picked up, years ago, but not my own. Is there a point to resubmitting yet?? Thanks! Teri
bobrat Posted June 23, 2004 Posted June 23, 2004 Just to clarify: DMOZ never notifies anyone about acceptance or refusal. Resubmitting in many cases wipes out the previous submission, in that case, it's as though you never submitted 3 years ago, you keep kicking yourself to the back of the line, for editors that work in date order. There is NEVER a point to submitting unless someone in this forum told you to. We continue to wonder why a lot of people have this concept. And by the way, you were listed in http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Designers/Basic_Service/T/ a few days ago, you should see it now, however it may take several days to show up, sepdning on which server you access.
tteri77 Posted June 24, 2004 Author Posted June 24, 2004 Unbeleiveable! Hi Bobrat... Thank you for your post. There I am! I can't beleive it, I've waited so long. Thanks for letting me know that dmoz FINALLY picked me up... Have a great day! Teri
