Hello,

I was thrilled to get accepted as an editor yesterday and went about reading some of the reams of material that was sent to me about how to edit listings and add new ones. Then I logged in and tried to do a little work.

This afternoon I was planning on asking the new member forum about the listings I worked on and could not get back in. My password does not work any more and I was wondering if I am being locked out on purpose or if it is a glitch of some kind.

Please help!

Mark

Mark, no editors are able to log-in at this time; the editing side of ODP is down. Sit tight, they're working on it.

'Tis a glitch that is affecting all of us editor types...

Thanks <img src="/images/icons/smirk.gif" alt="" />

I thought I was fired on my very first day.

If you are fired I believe you get a message such as 'Login inactivated/removed'. Whereas, if you miskey your password or ODP is suffering problems you get the message 'Login incorrect'.

I could be slightly wrong with the wording of the 'Login inactived/removed' message (as I've never seen it myself, thank deity) but I have been told that it is different.

Being able to discuss these problems here in a forum external to ODP is quite useful. I couldn't get in either, and as I'm also new I got a "login error" or some such. Now that I realize it takes an error like "login inactivated" to be in trouble, I'll breathe easier (at least, IMO, my cat's are in good order if I go!).

FWIW, even here at RZ, one or two days ago this forum wouldn't accept my old password. I had to email 'em to get a new one which I guess is what I used now. So be prepared for anything.

In case you are wondering, the message you will receive if you have been removed will be:

There was a problem with your form:

This ODP login has been inactivated.

Please go back in your browser and resubmit the form.

I think the wording is about to be (or recently was) changed to something like:

>> Please go back in your browser if you need to resubmit the form. <<

as in some cases there is no need to resubmit.
