wbaustralia Posted March 31, 2004 Posted March 31, 2004 Hello Lounge. 'Tis said this is a place form members to relax, so a little thinking done in a relaxed frame of mind might do the trick. I'm having an awful time trying to figure which category my site should be listed with, and therefore which editor or editors to become involved with, and I need help. The site seems to intersect with many categories, and there isn't one that matches what it does. Buying, selling and swapping are equally important to the site users, and to us. Reason? People can buy, sell and swap goods and services, and yet the site itself doesn't actually have the materials of services for sale. And it's neither a shop nor a directory but is is very new, and not at all similar to any other sites I've seen on the web, because it's simply non specialist. At the moment, it's 'empty' but I could provide a link for anyone wanting to have a go at categorising the thing. We also own several domain names, but they are redirects which is DMOZ naughty, but seems thus far to be the only solution to the cat problem. (I'll provide the link either here by request or to email requests - this is NOT a tout) Anyone experienced in such matters willing to have a shot at it?
Meta pvgool Posted March 31, 2004 Meta Posted March 31, 2004 Sounds like it could be placed somewhere in Shopping/Classifieds/ But only after you have content (empty sites won't be listed) I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
wbaustralia Posted April 1, 2004 Author Posted April 1, 2004 Sounds like it could be placed somewhere in Shopping/Classifieds/ But only after you have content (empty sites won't be listed) Hmm, chicken and egg conundrum there. For those wanting to see what's there: <www.wannabuy.com.au>
wbaustralia Posted April 3, 2004 Author Posted April 3, 2004 Post the link. Don't tease us Posted just for you: <www.wannabuy.com.au> Quite a few have looked at the thread, and probably some have looked at the site which I posted in answer to another reply - depends on how they set their display. Even so, not a lot of opinion forthcoming:-) Which is good news and bad news. I wouldn't like to think I'd missed a simple solution to the problem.
Meta pvgool Posted April 3, 2004 Meta Posted April 3, 2004 After looking at your site my advice is to submit it to the best fitting subcategory of Shopping/Classifieds But first: get content. If you submit the site as this moment it will very probably be rejected. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
