Guest coledr Posted October 17, 2002 Posted October 17, 2002 I had applied to the http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Colorado/Localities/B/Boulder/Business_and_Economy/Services/ category about three weeks ago and I was rejected because some of the sites I suggested had an overlap and probably should have gone into another category. I resubmitted with better fitting sites about a week later and I haven't heard back yet. I got the confirmation emails and everything so I was just wondering if someone could look to see if my application is still in the cue or if it was rejected. Thanks for your time! Luke
giz Posted October 18, 2002 Posted October 18, 2002 Looks like the reply said please wait and be patient at: http://www.resource-zone.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=bemome&Number=10335 . Due to bug fixes and upgrades most editors haven't logged in for more than a few hours in total in the last 3 or 4 days (oh, and by the way it is 'queue', not 'cue).
donaldb Posted October 18, 2002 Posted October 18, 2002 Um, actually either cue or queue is just fine
apeuro Posted October 18, 2002 Posted October 18, 2002 Um, actually either cue or queue is just fine I actually prefer to harken back to the Oxford English Dictionary as the final arbitrator for all disputes concerning English usage. In our case, it seems that the OED doesn't consider cue to be an alernative to the word queue in the sense that ODP editors use it (especially in the noun form - as in "you are in the queue").
Guest rfgdxm Posted October 18, 2002 Posted October 18, 2002 Dictionaries are just history books. That one dictionary found such use in the language is relevant. Remember, languages do evolve.
hildea Posted October 18, 2002 Posted October 18, 2002 Ignoring the speling an diksjnari dibeit and returning to the original question: There's no application for http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/Colorado/Localities/B/Boulder/Business_and_Economy/Services/ in the queue, so that means the application has been rejected. Regards, Hilde
Guest coledr Posted October 18, 2002 Posted October 18, 2002 Thanks for checking Hilde, at least now I know. I guess I will have to try harder! Luke
