venglos Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 I resubmitted this site http://www.midlandmortgages.co.uk to http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Financial_Services/Personal_Finance/Mortgages/M/ ,having thought original submission had not worked. Could someone give me an update? Many many thanks in advance. Chris Hodgetts
venglos Posted April 7, 2004 Author Posted April 7, 2004 Update [readme"]readme[/readme] Sorry, I have updated my post with details of the category I had submitted to....regards
venglos Posted April 14, 2004 Author Posted April 14, 2004 Is there any way I can check the status of this site? I posted it a few months ago? Many thanks
jimnoble Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 # Wait at least a month after you last submitted your site to start a thread here asking about its status. You presumably missed that part of the [readme]nn[/readme] because your last submission was on 25th March 2004 (and that's the only one we know about because new ones replace older ones). However, you can deduce that it's awaiting review there.
venglos Posted April 19, 2004 Author Posted April 19, 2004 Thanks Jim. You're right I missed the fact that a resubmit would replace the old one. With this being a competitive category i'd imagine there's a long queue! Many thanks, I'll sit tight and wait to "appear".
venglos Posted May 7, 2004 Author Posted May 7, 2004 Can anyone give me an idea of when the site http://www.midlandmortgages.co.uk will appear in the directory http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Uni...ce/Mortgages/M/ (assuming it will be approved of course!). Original submission was some time ago and I resubmitted 6 weeks ago on 25/3. Any news would be gratefully appreciated. Best regards Chris Hodgetts
jimnoble Posted May 7, 2004 Posted May 7, 2004 You learned on 14th April that your suggestion is awaiting review. You must have forgotten that you must wait at least a month before asking again. [readme].[/readme]
venglos Posted May 17, 2004 Author Posted May 17, 2004 I was wondering if it would be possible to get an update on submission status of the site http://www.midlandmortgages.co.uk submitted to http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Uni...ce/Mortgages/M/ on 25/3/2004?? Many thanks
venglos Posted May 17, 2004 Author Posted May 17, 2004 Thanks for the prompt reply John. Difficult to say I know but, in your experience, given the size of the "queue" are you able to give an indication of when this site may be reviewed?. Many thanks for your assistance. Chris
Meta hutcheson Posted May 17, 2004 Meta Posted May 17, 2004 No, the size of the queue gives very little if any indication. We don't ever know what sites our volunteers will review next.
venglos Posted May 17, 2004 Author Posted May 17, 2004 No problem. Just have to sit tight and see what happens! Thanks everyone for the feedback.
venglos Posted July 1, 2004 Author Posted July 1, 2004 Hello all, I just thought it appropriate to ask again about the site as detailed earlier in this thread. Has been 6 weeks since I last sought information on when this might be reviewed. Can anyone shed any light on this?
bobrat Posted July 1, 2004 Posted July 1, 2004 You could read the FAQs http://resource-zone.com/forum/faq.php? especiallly http://resource-zone.com/forum/faq.php?faq=odp#faq_how_long and also please read http://resource-zone.com/forum/announcement.php?f=22
jimnoble Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 I've just taken a look at the site. It has rather wider scope than just mortgages. When I ignore the content provided by others such as moneysupermarket and moreover, it's primarily selling financial services in the area surrounding Tamworth. I've thus moved the UK level application to Tamworth. Finally, in accordance with the clearly laid out rules of this forum, please don't enquire again until 2005.
venglos Posted July 2, 2004 Author Posted July 2, 2004 Thanks Jim. We do cover a wider area than Tamworth, providing services to most of Shropshire, Warks, West Mids, East Mids, Notts and Derbyshire. In theory we can handle mortgage enquiries from anywhere in the UK, hence the original UK submission. However if you feel a Tamworth application is more appropriate I'm happy with that. I wasn't aware that the rules had changed regarding enquiry timescales but will wait patiently for progress in due course.
bobrat Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Companies are in most cases listed by location, not areas of business or target markets.
