dbochniak Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Hello, I would like the status of http://www.chicagobooth.com Category is: http://dmoz.org/Business/Hospitality/Food_Service/Tools_and_Equipment/Furniture/ Thank you, Dave
senox Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 The site is awaiting review in the category you mentioned. You seem to have a physical location somewhere in the Chicago area, so you can make an additional submission to the Regional category (locality) where your facility/showroom is located. This will not interfere with the first submission you made.
dbochniak Posted July 18, 2004 Author Posted July 18, 2004 1 year+ review period? Hi there. Just wondering if delays of one year are common, as http://www.chicagobooth.com (Category: http://dmoz.org/Business/Hospitalit...ment/Furniture/ ) has not been reviewed in this period of time. If necessary, I would be happy to volunteer to review this category. Please advise. Thanks very much.
Meta hutcheson Posted July 19, 2004 Meta Posted July 19, 2004 Delays of one year between site submittal and review are not unusual. The ODP can always use help: but we're looking for people who are interested in building a comprehensive directory, not providing site review services for submitters. It is very important that editors and submitters recognize the enormous difference (and even conflict of interest) between those two goals.
dbochniak Posted September 25, 2004 Author Posted September 25, 2004 Editor's email Is there any way I can communicate with the editor of the category directly, then. As there are fewer than 20 sites in the category, and I have now waited about 18 months, I feel that they might be delaying for some reason, and perhaps I can help with some additional information.
donwiebe Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 You could use the feedback link on his or her profile, but your email will most likely be ignored. We discourage editors from getting into conversations with submitters. This forum is the preferred method for you to contact us. Please also note that there are several hundred active editors who edit in that category, so the editor listed at the bottom of the category is in no way culpable for the review time of your site. When they are reviewed, websites have to stand on their own merit. Providing additional information about a website to an ODP editor is of no use to you or us, since neither you nor we know whether that editor will be the one who ultimately reviews your website.
