digitsix Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 I was looking around in the category i submitted my site to and it doesnt list any editors for it. Does this mean there is no editor for my category? If there isnt, does the fact that I have a site waiting submission to that category rule me out for applying to be an editor?
Meta hutcheson Posted April 9, 2004 Meta Posted April 9, 2004 There are several hundred editors who have privileges to edit in that category. They all edit there "whenever they want" (which, since there are many other categories, may not be very often). This will not preclude the ODP welcoming someone else who wants to contribute to the ODP, beginning with that category. Your having a site suitable for that category will not preclude your being accepted to edit there.
kctipton Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 It means nobody is listed as editor for your category. People who edit "above" that one can edit your as well, so don't worry about it. Submit to the right category if you want things done in the least amount of time.
digitsix Posted April 13, 2004 Author Posted April 13, 2004 I know... ive been waiting for a while and this is an importain part to my SEO campaign so I really would like be included yesterday =)
spectregunner Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Well then, I would like to gently suggest that you have a flawed SEO campaign if it is somehow dependent upon having an anonymous vounteer editor who works where and when he/she chooses take a specific action on your behalf in a specificed timeframe. Isn't that somewhat akin to writing a business plan that calls for winning the lottery sometime during month 18?
digitsix Posted April 22, 2004 Author Posted April 22, 2004 haha, We are doing fine for the time being. It's not my fault that google and engines alike favor inbound links from odp, if it were my choice, id give odp a pr of 0 and be done with it. O'well looks like ill just have to wait my turn.
bobrat Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 A lot of editors have the same feeling, if ODP got a PR of 0, we wouldn't have so much spam.
