Guest Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 Any news on this site I submitted a couple of weeks ago. http://dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Advertising/Agencies/Full_Service/E/ Thanks http://www.elitecreativestudios.com/
dfy Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 <add> Original post above pointed to Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Advertising/Agencies/Full_Service/ </add> There are well over 600 submissions waiting in that category. Probably because any editor that gets there figures that a submitter that can't work out which letter his company name starts with is unlikely to produce a site worth listing.
uzs980 Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 As I am not an editor in that part of the directory, I can't look into the unreviewed queue. All I know is that there's about a dozen sites waiting for review and that your site has not been touched yet. It is impossible to say when an editor will come to your site to review it. There is certainly a lack of editors in this part of the directory. On the other hand, the category Business/Marketing and Advertising/Advertising/Agencies/Full Service/E might be small enough for a new editor. <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" /> By the way, when I try to look at your site using Netscape 4.75, I get to see the source code of http://www.elitecreativestudios.com/temps/home_web.dwt in the main frame - so I can't really look at your site now.
dfy Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 Ah, it looks like the first post has been altered so that it seems to be pointing to the 'E' subcat of http://dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Advertising/Agencies/Full_Service/ . Unfortunately the text has been changed, but not the link, which still points to the main cat. Looking at the site with Mozilla 1.1, I also get the source.
dfy Posted October 29, 2002 Posted October 29, 2002 I just spent a hugely enjoyable 10 minutes deleting all the duplicates (and a couple of escort agencies) in the unreviewed queues, which cut the number down by a hundred or so. I didn't see your site anywhere.

uzs980 Posted October 31, 2002 Posted October 31, 2002 I've just put your suggestion into the internal forum to discuss about it. (For editors: see http://dmoz.org/forum/threaddisplay.cgi?t=Forum5/HTML/001249.html.) Yours, Robert
uzs980 Posted October 31, 2002 Posted October 31, 2002 It seems that was a good idea - a meta editor turned off the "add URL" link in Business/Marketing and Advertising/Advertising/Agencies/Full Service. Submissions can now only be made in the letter subcategories. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />
motsa Posted October 31, 2002 Posted October 31, 2002 uzs980, that's a pretty standard request for cats with alphabars.
