incinnv Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 I submitted this site several weeks ago and was wondering about its status. Can you please help?
spectregunner Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Sorry, we cannot assist you until you go back and read the forum submission guidelines and provide us with all the information we require. Sort of like trying to incorporate wiht no address, or phone number. :o
incinnv Posted April 23, 2004 Author Posted April 23, 2004 Incorporate-in-nevada.info Help Can you please direct me to where this information is? I have looked through the forum submission guidelines that I could find and they were generic. Are there specifics for this forum that I am not finding? I do not remember the directory path that I submitted the site through; I only know that it has been at least a month and it is not listed. I don't want to resubmit and get banned for abuse or something but I am not sure what else you require. Appreciate any help you can provide. Incorporate-in-nevada.info
thehelper Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 We need a clickable link to the dmoz.org category you submitted to. It is clearly stated in the forum guidelines. As soon as you give us that information we can do the status check for you. Thanks.
djdeeds Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Can you please direct me to where this information is? ATTENTION - Forum Guidelines - READ BEFORE POSTING
spectregunner Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 If you cannot remember where you submitted, try and recreate your thought process as if you were submitting anew. We are willing to look in two or even three categories, but thre is no automated means by which we can search the 450,000+ files that make up the overall submission pool.
incinnv Posted May 7, 2004 Author Posted May 7, 2004 OK, I've tried to recreate my thought process so hopefully we can figure this out. It had already been so long from when I submitted to when I posted that there's no good way to recreate it since there are several categories it could go in. One option is the Business:Business Services:Consulting line, either in Business Formation, Business Formation: US or Small Business beyond the Consulting point. Or it could be Regional: North America: US: Business & Economy: Business to Business: Business Formation Consulting Or possibly Business: Small Business: Start Up Hope this helps. Looking forward to your reply...
spectregunner Posted May 7, 2004 Posted May 7, 2004 If you make those links clickable, someone will gladly check them out for you. :o

thehelper Posted May 7, 2004 Posted May 7, 2004 No. Submit to the ONE best category that you think your site fits. Not 4. Post back and ask again about where you want us to check on the ONE category that your site best fits. I don't have time to check 4 of them. I doubt my other dmoz brothers have the time either. Do you realize how many status requests we get here? Do you know how far behind we are? Please do a little homework for us here - it is much appreciated. Thanks.
incinnv Posted June 9, 2004 Author Posted June 9, 2004 I was simply following the instructions given by spectregunner so I'm not sure what to do now. Following the string, you will see that I DID only submit to one place, I just don't recall what it was because it was so long ago. Spectregunner indicated I should give a few links to the paths I thought it might be on and someone would check it for me. You're saying that's not going to happen. It's hard to know what to do when the story changes with every post.
Meta kokopeli Posted June 9, 2004 Meta Posted June 9, 2004 The site should be submitted to the one most appropriate category . We can take a lot of time to check all of the categories that you gave but that wouldn't really do anyone any good. Thehelper has asked which category is the best fit...if you let us know which one that is we will check there. We can check the more inappropriate categories but that really won't do you any good because you would then need to wait for an editor there to move it to the more appropriate category. By letting us know which category fits your site the best we can check there and ask you to resubmit if it is not pending review there.
incinnv Posted June 9, 2004 Author Posted June 9, 2004 Thanks, kokopeli - This is probably the 'best' one... http://dmoz.org/Business/Business_Services/Consulting/Business_Formation/United_States/
spectregunner Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 Time out -- I may be at fault here. I advised the submitter to try and indentify the three or four categories where the URL most likely would have been submitted, and the submitter is simply following my instructions. If someone will check those four cats for the URl in question, I would appreciate it and will try and be more precise in my wording in the future. If I were teh submitter, I'd be mightily frustrated right now, so I offer my apologies.

He said he submitted to one only, and the one he feels is the most appropriate is indeed the one he submitted to. Sorry for the confusion. The suggestion from 21/Jan/2004 is currently pending review in that category
