Guest Posted October 31, 2002 Posted October 31, 2002 I filled out the application form again, because my application for reinstatement never got a reply at all. Once I had filled it out, and clicked next, I got the reinstatement form again (since I had answered that yes, I had previously been an editor). My question is: was there any point to me applying to be an editor anew, or does only the reinstatement form get submitted? Thanks. (login was kalisti23)
motsa Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Do not apply for an new editor ID. If you were an editor, your only recourse is the reinstatement form. If you get no response from that after a reasonable time, you're request may have been denied. Could depend on whether you timed out or were removed. [edited to add: I don't see where there's been an editor with the name kalisti23. You sure you weren't just plain old kalisti?]
Guest Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 I was plain ol' kalisti. My new application used name kalisti23. It was my understanding that I had been removed simply from inactivity, but since I'm getting no response, that must not have been the case. I definitely made some mistakes my first time around as an editor, so I guess that must be it. Is there anyone I can email to try and find out why precisely I was removed? Thanks.
beebware Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Looking at the details for kalisti, I see no notice of your removal, nor do I see any notice of you resigning - therefore the most likely reason is that your account 'timed out' for inactivity. Please use the account reinstatement form. If you submitted your reinstatement request a few weeks ago, it is possible that it was not received by the meta editors due to server problems (which are now resolved).
Guest Posted November 2, 2002 Posted November 2, 2002 When I attempt to submit a reinstatement request, I get a message saying there was an error with the email address. Is this just for my information, and is the request still going through? I have no idea what email address I was using when I was previously an editor. I believe it was an old mailexcite address, which is certainly defunct by now. Thank you for your help in this.
Guest Posted November 6, 2002 Posted November 6, 2002 Anyone I can write to in order to check up on this? I'm worried that my request didn't go through, because of the weird email error it was giving. Thanks.
Meta hutcheson Posted November 6, 2002 Meta Posted November 6, 2002 It's not going through. Hold on a bit, someone will look into it.
Guest Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 Thank you for such a speedy reply! You guys are really great.
Guest Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 Should I contact someone via email about this, or keep waiting? Not trying to be impatient, just eager <img src="/images/icons/grin.gif" alt="" /> Thanks.
