Changing submitted description for URL in ODP

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the right section to ask in, let me know if it's not.

Our site was submitted to the ODP about 4-5 months ago and it got in but my friend managed to miss-spell the description and it really bugs me now to see "Description: Portal and forum to discus security issues" everywhere.

I have submitted a change via the ODP in the relevant catergory and someone has told me the Editors are extremely busy so I've waited a couple of months to see if it'd changed but it's still the same.

Could anyone help me out here?

It's in http://dmoz.org/Computers/Security/

http://www.security-forums.com/

Many thanks, any answers or aid will be much appreciated.

Regards

Shaolin

I have fixed the error in the description. It should be visible on the public side once the pages regenerate.

Your update request is still waiting in a very long queue, I left it there, as you also requested a modification of your title and description. BTW, your suggestions are unlikely to be accepted 'as is', if they're accepted at all. You'll have to be patient.

Excellent, thanks for the quick reply and action

Any specific reason why my requested changes wouldn't be actioned?

The title you suggested includes a keyword list. Just check the titles of the other sites in the category and compare them to what you've submitted. The suggested description may be OK, but I'm not the one who will review your site and decide if the changes will be accepted or not.

Can I just make a new one and post it here and you change it and delete the other one from the queue?

Save wasting everyones time and all *ahem*

I believe that if you submit a new request it will replace the old one in the queue. And even if not, an editor perusing the queue will probably notice 2 requests on the same URL, and delete the "less reasonable" one.

Ah right, thanks for that, I didn't know.

I'll have a read of the others in the catergory later and re-submit a shiny new request.

Thanks for your help and assistance
