Rock Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 Seems strange to me that "onomatopoeia" is one of the least onomatopoetic words in the English language. How about this:
code:
noun: zoomwhizbuzz plural: zoomwhizbuzzes verb (reg): zoomwhizbuzz adjective: zoomwhizbuzzish adverb: zoomwhizbuzzly interjection: zoomwhizbuzzt!

dfy Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 What on earth is 'zoomwhizbuzz' supposed to sound like?
Guest Posted December 6, 2002 Posted December 6, 2002 Like swish swoosh splat dmoz ping what interests me (being an Englishman in Stockholm) is how Swedes use different words - like how can it sound different. For instance Swedes say 'Plash' not 'Splash'. So does the sound start with an 'S' or not?
djdeeds Posted December 7, 2002 Posted December 7, 2002 Lick. (Watching my cats drink water made me think of this. Say it lots of times fast.)
