simplycfhost Posted May 9, 2004 Posted May 9, 2004 Hi, I posted in the old forums some time ago with regards to my submission staus. The old thread is here Could someone take a look and give me an indictaion of when http://www.simplycfhost.com will be added to the following category: http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Hosting/S/ Many thanks, Phil
donwiebe Posted May 9, 2004 Posted May 9, 2004 The site is in the category, awaiting review. Due to the nature of the review process, we are unable to estimate the time until review of any given submission. Please be patient.
simplycfhost Posted June 29, 2004 Author Posted June 29, 2004 Can I have an update on my submission please?
donwiebe Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Sorry, there's been no change in status: it's still awaiting review. If you don't see it listed sometime in the next six months, please feel free to return for a status update on or after 29 December.
simplycfhost Posted June 29, 2004 Author Posted June 29, 2004 That is a joke right? Wait another six months to request an update on somone checking a site and adding it to the directory??? I'm sorry if this sounds critical but I really fail to see why this process is taking so long. You said that there are a lot of sites in that category awaiting review, so much so that it could take almost a year to get listed? I think not... Who is the editor for that category, there doesn't appear to be one listed, or is there anyone I can escalate this too?
Meta hutcheson Posted June 29, 2004 Meta Posted June 29, 2004 Normally, you escalate complaints to the meta-editors. Why don't you just contact Don directly? He's one of us, and you've already established rapport by calling him a liar and impugning his sense of humor. In the past, frustrated spammers have escalated to the FBI, FCC, FTC, various Attorney Generals, the U.S. Congress, the United Nations<joke>, the Men in Black, and the Minions of Ming the Merciless<end joke>. None of these have ever yet responded, so if you think six months is a long time, escalating to them may cause frustration. [Warning for the innumerate humor-impaired: all jokes in this post are labelled, and all portions of this post not so labelled are not jokes.]

simplycfhost Posted June 29, 2004 Author Posted June 29, 2004 OK point taken. Don - My apoligies. Very long day with too much caffeine but still no need to take it out on you. Hutcheson - I have a great sense of humour but at times a big mouth so an apology there as well... Giz - Interetsing thread, shame I didn't find it earlier. This may sound like a grovelling apology, which it is in a way , but I let off steam at the wrong time to the the wrong people. I'll stick a six month reminder in Outlook!
giz Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Bear in mind that those editors that choose to post in this forum don't hold grudges, and also note that the editor that reviews your site is quite unlikely to have even seen this thread. Out of the many thousands of active editors, only a few dozen post here every day, a few dozen more on a weekly or so basis, and few hundred others from time to time.
simplycfhost Posted June 29, 2004 Author Posted June 29, 2004 I must admit I wasn't apoligising in the hope it will get my site listed quicker, I was apoligising because I was out of order... I've taken your points on board though...
