Guest Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 Hi, I submitted the web site http://www.indiantradeleads.com in the following category: http://dmoz.org/Business/International_Business_and_Trade/Import_and_Export/Portals/ Would like to know the status of the same. The site was submitted some 2-3 months back. Regards and thanks
totalxsive Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 It's still waiting. There is a very large backlog in that category, due to the high amount of spam it receieves.
dfy Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 Since that site is merely a gateway to http://www.jaipurplus.com/, which is already listed in Regional/Asia/India/Rajasthan/Business_and_Economy (as "Rajasthan Business Directory") it is unlikely to be listed.
Guest Posted November 12, 2002 Posted November 12, 2002 Hi, If you visit the web site, you will find that not a single link from www.indiantradeleads.com takes you to jaipurplus.com, so I think this is not to be a Gateway to JaipurPlus. These are 2 different portals developed for two different companies. Only common thing being the web solution company i.e. us. Jaipurplus has equity stake in the Indian Trade leads, but else every thing is different, the design, the layout, web application etc are totally different. We hope that you will reconsider the same. Thanks and regards
Meta hutcheson Posted November 12, 2002 Meta Posted November 12, 2002 Having reconsidered, I confirm the editor's action. >Jaipurplus has equity stake in the Indian Trade leads, but else every thing is different, the design, the layout, web application etc are totally different. OK, I'll get technical again. What you've described is not a "doorway" but a "fraternal mirror." (The "doorway" term is arguably also accurate but is less comprehensive, IMO.) This quote from the submittal guidelines is what should have told you not ever to have submitted that site in the first place: "Do not submit URLs that contain only the same or similar content as other sites you may have listed in the directory. Sites with overlapping and repetitive content are not helpful to users of the directory. Multiple submissions of the same or related sites may result in the exclusion and/or deletion of those and all affiliated sites." You can read the whole document at http://dmoz.org/add.html ; and I believe that we have a right to expect that professional website developers who wish to continue to be submitters will know and abide by it. If you want the site linked from that category, you should seek it indirectly from the admittedly and obviously related and interested site Jaipurplus.com already listed in that ODP category, and not from the ODP.
