nutzaboutchico Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 Hello there, just wanting to stop by and check with ya on the status of my listing. http://www.line-man.com was submitted on approx. 4/15/2004 http://dmoz.org/Business/Energy_and_Environment/Employment/ Peace from Nor-Cal
Meta kokopeli Posted May 18, 2004 Meta Posted May 18, 2004 It is not pending review in that category, nor do editor notes show it was ever touched by an editor. If that is the most appropriate category you should resubmit.
nutzaboutchico Posted May 18, 2004 Author Posted May 18, 2004 gotcha! http:/www.Line-Man.com Thanks for the reply kokopeli Will try again. Curious, since we focus on Energy and Telecom Careers can we submit to both of the following catagories? (Just submitted) http://dmoz.org/Business/Energy_and_Environment/Employment/ & http://dmoz.org/Business/Telecommunications/Employment/ Thanks for any feedback in advance, N.A.C.
Meta hutcheson Posted May 18, 2004 Meta Posted May 18, 2004 Pick the single category that best fits the focus of "most of the site." If no industry-specific category fits more than say two thirds of the site's content, then the generic employment category would be the best place.
nutzaboutchico Posted May 19, 2004 Author Posted May 19, 2004 thanks 10/4, thanks for the speedy responses. N.A.C.
nutzaboutchico Posted June 20, 2004 Author Posted June 20, 2004 Just wanted to follow up on my submission to see if an editor had gotten to it or if it was qeued for review. Thanks, Nutzaboutchico
donwiebe Posted June 20, 2004 Posted June 20, 2004 The submission has been received and is awaiting review. If you don't see it listed sometime in the next six months, please feel free to return for a status update on or after 20 December.
nutzaboutchico Posted September 26, 2004 Author Posted September 26, 2004 revisit on status of submission - HTTP://WWW.LINE-MAN.COM Could someone please look into the status on my sites submission. Also, would my not being listed on the DMOZ directory be affecting my Google ranking? I understand from web discussions that Google and DMOZ are somewhat related and I have great rankings on every search engine except Google. http://www.Line-Man.com It was submitted to this directory: http://dmoz.org/Business/Energy_and_Environment/Employment/ Kind Regards, Nutzaboutchico
nutzaboutchico Posted December 31, 2004 Author Posted December 31, 2004 Greetings all, I was just swinging by to wish everyone at DMOZ a Happy Holiday! Also, if some one could please check into the status of my submitted listing to http://dmoz.org/Business/Energy_and_Environment/Employment/ I'd be eternally greatful. The Nutty One
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted January 9, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted January 9, 2005 Listed in [cat]Business/Telecommunications/Construction,_Installation,_and_Maintenance[/cat]. Rejected from http://dmoz.org/Business/Energy_and_Environment/Employment/ and from http://dmoz.org/Business/Construction_and_Maintenance/Employment/Job_Search . If you feel that the category it's listed in is incorrect, you may submit an update request.
nutzaboutchico Posted February 15, 2005 Author Posted February 15, 2005 Back again, Hello all! Sorry to bug ya but I've submitted 4 requests in about 5 months to have my text and directory listing edited and no reply from any of the responses. Not even a auto responder to indicate my "kind requests" were received. Can someone please follow up? Proposed listing Directory: http://dmoz.org/Business/Energy_and_Environment/Employment/ Proposed Text Change: Line-Man.com - a website to search everything Lineman - Lineman Jobs, Lineman Boots, and Lineman Tools. Focusing on Jobs for the Electric Power Utilites, Telecom and Cable TV Networks. ______________________________________ Sorry, I think there's other way to get my listing changed, but I couldn't find the feedback or edit functions on the dmoz. site Thanks, N.A.C. Chico, CA
Meta hutcheson Posted February 15, 2005 Meta Posted February 15, 2005 That isn't close to a guidelines-compliant listing. Expect the request to be rejected. If there are factual errors in the current listing, you can point them out. But the keyword-stuffing isn't going to fly.
bobrat Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 At this point, that update, if pending has not been processed - however, it's not acceptable, and will be rejected. It's keyword stuffed, full of incorrectly capitalized words, has a mispelled word, etc. http://www.dmoz.org/guidelines/describing.html#descriptions
nutzaboutchico Posted February 16, 2005 Author Posted February 16, 2005 Thanks for the speedy reply. Can I request a small edit to the existing listing? Really small? Change: 1- Linemen to Lineman 2- CATV to Cable TV If there's a better place to make this request, please direct me if so. Thanks, N.A.C. Chico, CA
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted February 16, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted February 16, 2005 You may make an update request. I don't edit in that category, but I'd reject #1, and probably accept #2.
nutzaboutchico Posted February 17, 2005 Author Posted February 17, 2005 arubin, Where can I find this request page?
uzs980 Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 The "update listing" link is on the top right of each category page.
