Alexey Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 Hi Could you help me with submit process? I submitted my site to the http://www.dmoz.com/Business/Arts_and_Entertainment/Photography/Photographers/Wedding_and_Events/North_America/United_States/Nevada/ And on submit page you suggest: Photography businesses should be listed in Regional as well as in Arts/Photography/Photographers. But when I try to submit my site to Regional there is a disclaimer: Do not submit an URL that contains only the same or similar content as other sites you may have listed in the directory. Multiple submissions of the same or related sites may result in the exclusion and/or deletion of those and all affiliated sites. Should I still proceed and submit my site in both categories? Thank you.
donwiebe Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 Yes, in this case, you may submit your URL a second time. This is an exception to the rule you quote above: one listing in Regional/ and another in Arts/Photography/Photographers is generally acceptable.
senox Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Sorry to contradict donwiebe here, the submission notice is not really up to date any more. If you're a professional wedding photographer based in Nevada then you got the right category in Business. Arts/Photography is primarily for non-commercial sites. You can still make a second submission to the locality where you are based (somewhere under http://dmoz.org/Regional/ ).
Alexey Posted February 24, 2005 Author Posted February 24, 2005 Check Status Could you check the status of my submission? I submitted my site to the http://www.dmoz.com/Business/Arts_a..._States/Nevada/ In May 2004. Thank you.
Meta shadow575 Posted February 24, 2005 Meta Posted February 24, 2005 Could you check the status of my submission? I submitted my site to the http://www.dmoz.com/Business/Arts_a..._States/Nevada/ In May 2004. Thank you. This forum thread is for help regarding submissions. You should inquire in the Site submission Status forum for this request. Since you did not leave a URL, I can only guess it is the same URL as you inquired about previously http://www.svetlanaphotostudio.com and his thread is located here. If that is the site you need to inquire about do not start a new thread, simply post over there the new request. Thanks. I do not respond to private messages requesting site status checks. _______________________________________________ https://shadow575.wordpress.com/
Alexey Posted July 13, 2005 Author Posted July 13, 2005 Hi I submitted my website http://www.svetlanaphotostudio.com more then a year ago. It is still not reviewed yet. The verbage that I used for my website is pretty old and now I want to change it. How can I change a description of my website now?
bobrat Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 You could suggest it again, and the chances are it will almost certainly replace the previous suggestion. However, I advise that you do not do this - if an editor decides to review the pile in submission date order, you are now on the bottom. Oor expereince is that most descriptions are not accepted as given, and require some amount of rewrite, often they are totally discarded. So your revised submission probably would not get accepted anyway.
