qwerty Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 Submitted AnnaSinkovska.com 6-8 weeks ago to Business/Arts_and_Entertainment/Fashion/Modeling/Portfolios/Individual/S/ I realize this category has no editor, but I'm curious about how long I should expect it to take.
beebware Posted November 25, 2002 Posted November 25, 2002 Are you sure that is were you submitted? Your site is not in the unreviewed queue for that category, nor is there any indication that it was accepted OR rejected from any other category (so, it is conceivable that it could be awaiting review else where - but until an editor 'touches' it, no logs are made).
qwerty Posted November 25, 2002 Author Posted November 25, 2002 Would you recommend re-submitting it? I'm almost 100% certain that that's the category I first submitted it to. It's certainly where it belongs.
Meta hutcheson Posted November 26, 2002 Meta Posted November 26, 2002 Yes, what he said was tantamount to a suggestion that you resubmit.
qwerty Posted November 26, 2002 Author Posted November 26, 2002 OK, I've resubmitted. I imagine that means I'm back to square one now, but at least I know it's definitely been submitted to the right place.
motsa Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 Actually, it looks like you submitted to http://dmoz.org/Business/Arts_and_Entertainment/Fashion/Modeling/Portfolios not http://dmoz.org/Business/Arts_and_Entertainment/Fashion/Modeling/Portfolios/Individual/S. I've moved you into unreviewed in the "S" category (note: you weren't there already so if you resubmitted, it wasn't anywhere under Modeling Portfolios -- you're awaiting review in the right place now, though, so don't resubmit).
qwerty Posted December 18, 2002 Author Posted December 18, 2002 Ok, it's now been about 3 weeks since I was re-added to the queue, but of course this is in a category without an editor. This leaves me wondering how long I should expect to wait before I should assume my site has been rejected.
Meta hutcheson Posted December 19, 2002 Meta Posted December 19, 2002 Sorry, the only possible answer is "forever, or until you understand the guidelines well enough to know why it ought to have been rejected."
qwerty Posted December 19, 2002 Author Posted December 19, 2002 Would you mind explaining that? You're one of three editors who've contributed to this string (twice now for you) and this is the first indication I've seen that the site deserves to be rejected. As far as I can tell, I've submitted it to the proper category. Since I wrote it, I know that the material is all original. I have permission from all the owners of the images, so I'm not stepping on anyone's copyright... what exactly is the problem?
Meta hutcheson Posted December 19, 2002 Meta Posted December 19, 2002 I don't know that the site deserves to be rejected. If it doesn't, then only the other temporal limit is applicable.
qwerty Posted January 3, 2003 Author Posted January 3, 2003 OK... another few weeks gone by, so I thought I'd check in. I noticed that two levels up from the category in which I submitted (Modeling/Portfolios) there is in fact an editor. Would it do me any good to contact "opm", or would that be unwise?
motsa Posted January 3, 2003 Posted January 3, 2003 Feel free to contact them -- there's no guarantee you'll get a response, though. As for checking on the status of the submission, please leave at least 1 month between checks (two weeks isn't nearly long enough).
qwerty Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 Hi. I just wanted to send my thanks to whichever editor chose to take a look at my site and add it to the index. Apparently, the category was edited on Wednesday, but I just noticed the change today, Sunday. I'm very appreciative.
