clasione Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 Hello all - I have a site: http://www.quit4good.com that was listed in the ODP so I'm very happy that it was excepted... It's been listed for about a year or so..... Only thing is that it is in a catagory for shopping. Open Directory Categories (1-1 of 1) Shopping: Health: Substance Abuse: Smoking Cessation: Other (1 match) Open Directory Sites (1-1 of 1) Guide to Quit Smoking - Product is a self help manual. -- http://quit4good.com Shopping: Health: Substance Abuse: Smoking Cessation: Other (1) Quit4good.com is a website about quitting smoking. It's a site that offers a free step by step guide to quit. Not a big deal, but I've made a few requests to have it moved to something more appropriate but never worked... Anyone have any ideas why it might have stayed?
bobrat Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 At some point you were selling the manual, so it belonged in Shopping. How did you request the change to another category, did you do a suggest URL or do an update listing
clasione Posted June 13, 2004 Author Posted June 13, 2004 I took over the site way back.... And changed it entirely.... I'm pretty sure I used the update listing feature.... A few times... Havent tryed for a couple months. I think..
sole Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 There's no update request in the queue, and no indication that there ever was one. There is indication that the site was submitted to several different sites and deleted from those queues because the site was already listed. Go ahead and click on the update listing link in the category where it is currently listed, and suggest a move to the one category you think would be best for the site. We do want to list sites where they logically belong. And you are right. If you aren't selling anything, we don't want it in Shopping.
clasione Posted October 18, 2004 Author Posted October 18, 2004 Thank you! somebody fixed it....... Sites been moved to a non shopping catagory....
