ssgupta Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 Request status for http://www.ssgupta.com Submitted lomg time ago: http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Opportunities/Online_Opportunities/
sole Posted June 15, 2004 Posted June 15, 2004 Your submission to that particular category has been deleted. However it still is awaiting review in several other categories including Business/Small_Business/Home_Office. Do not submit it to any more categories. When editors see that it is under review elsewhere, they are quicker to just delete any submission that isn't a perfect match for their category rather than try and find the perfect fit. It makes the process take longer.
Meta kokopeli Posted August 1, 2004 Meta Posted August 1, 2004 What category are you checking on? I count seven different categories your submission has been deleted from--and I'm only counting once each, rather than the several times it has been deleted from a few different. You even submitted to http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Domain_Names/For_Sale_or_Auction despite the fact you have none for sale. From the best I can tell, just because someone has done something with the submission, there is one waiting in http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Designers/Full_Service/S and one waiting in http://dmoz.org/Business/Small_Business/Home_Office It's entirely possible you have mutliple other inappropriate submits sitting out that and I can't tell because no editor has deleted or moved it somewhere more appropriate. You need to stop submitting it all over the place and decide what the one most appropriate placement is. Hopefully it is the design url, because I'm not seeing that it is specifically related to Home Office. Seriously, this is one of the best ways there is to get labeled a spammer. Serious editor time has been wasted deleting your numerous submissions because they are in the works under x and not appropriate, or because it is a duplicate, etc.
ssgupta Posted August 1, 2004 Author Posted August 1, 2004 "You even submitted to http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/...Sale_or_Auction despite the fact you have none for sale." My website has some 15 websites for sale as on date and, in my opioin, the most appropriate category. Since the listing did not get through for at least 2 years (as far as I remember), I tried with other categories. There is no intention to waste anyone's time (my time too is valuable). Will there be a listing finally?
Meta hutcheson Posted August 1, 2004 Meta Posted August 1, 2004 That will be decided when editors figure out what the one right category is, and review it in that context. Until that is done, there's no way we can know whether there will be a listing. We don't know when that review will take place -- you have probably delayed it by the confusing multiple inappropriate submittals -- but if you don't see the site listed within 6 months, you can bump this thread to ask for another status check.
ssgupta Posted February 5, 2005 Author Posted February 5, 2005 Over 6 months since last post - No listing yet! Wonder time yet to get listed? Per sugegstion of Moderator "hutcheson", bumping the thread.
djdeeds Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Still waiting in Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Designers/Full_Service/S . Rejected from Business/Small_Business/Home_Office .
