rst Posted June 15, 2004 Posted June 15, 2004 I'm very new. If I want to submit my site to a submission engine service in addition to DMOZ, how do I tell which ones will use responsible algorithms to submit my site, vs. which one will bombard or "spam" submission engines.
senox Posted June 15, 2004 Posted June 15, 2004 rst, Sorry, but this is not the right forum to discuss such questions. This site is strictly limited to ODP related questions. Try one of the forums listed under http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Chats_and_Forums/ Thanks.
LucidNet Posted June 15, 2004 Posted June 15, 2004 You should forget submission sites altogether, the best way of getting your site into google and other search engines is to get links to your website, the more you get.. the faster you are going to get found. you can manually submit to search engines for free. http://www.google.com/addurl.html http://www.exactseek.com/add.html http://www.altavista.com/addurl/default They are only a few... check out the other popular ones, there is usualyy free submissions. such as yahoo. But the best way is to build links, it will help get you higher in search engines too. http://www.seochat.com check that out for some info on getting better placements in search engines If you post messages in forums, read the rules and if they allow it post your website link in the signature. If they are popular forums, you may get visited quickly. http://forums.digitalpoint.com Google searches that everyday, and they are a forum about search engine optimization. You can ask more questions there, and the people are really helpful. Hope this advice is ok Andy
