Guest mars9820 Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 Dear staff, I am trying to get listed at http://dmoz.org/Computers/Hardware/Peripherals/ However it takes us a long time (already tried for about 3 months)...the last time I submit is a couple weeks ago. While I found out that my site was in a wrong queue (maybe someone moved it or we submitted it in the wrong category)...let we keep this in the middle without having fights . The fact is that we were listed in ODP before however we did a total company restyling which changed our business approach...in that time we put our homepage with an UNDER CONSTRUCTION notice. We were delisted of course (good point)...however we cannot get listed at the moment and our site has no under construction notices or whatever... Please let me know the status and your comments if aything can cause us not to be listed. Thanks in advance.
donaldb Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 It's probably best not to start a new thread about the same site. Previous thread. Whichever category that this ends up in, it's still going to take some time to review as there are quite a few submissions waiting in both of the categories. I don't see a record showing that this URL was ever listed in the directory, so it must have been under a different URL.
Guest mars9820 Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 Sorry, sorry, sorry and once again SORRY to start a new thread but it was in another forum, and I was thinking the 2 forums have different purpose ....1 forum to ask how to submit or where to submit, the other forum to request a status of a submission. (right???) Probably I was wrong about this... Anyway, to reply on your post. Our homepage was listed about 9 months ago (same URL)...(forgot the category)....we changed our business since we are a manufacturer of computer hardware (based in Taiwan) and new products always drive us into new markets. We transform our organization and our scope of business. Anyway I understand I just have to wait and see what will happen....I remember last time I added our URL it took 2 days to get listed...now it takes over 3 months... which let me wonder if we are dropped...our submission is lost or that we are just in the queue and waiting for our editor to read our post and review it.
Guest mars9820 Posted March 14, 2003 Posted March 14, 2003 Is it possible to get a submission status update regarding my domain www.technexion.com at current moment.
Meta windharp Posted March 14, 2003 Meta Posted March 14, 2003 Yes it is. Curlie Meta/kMeta Editor windharp
Guest mars9820 Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 and may I know what the status is in that case? (please don't answer YES again).....however I agree it is funny answer, but not very useful as you can imagine.
giz Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 I think Windharp was being a little devil; maybe something to do with the fact that he had just made 666 messages on this board. I'm not an editor in the area of interest, so I'll leave the question for someone who has access there.
motsa Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 You're still in the queue, along with a couple of hundred other sites.
Guest mars9820 Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 Poor editor that has several hunderd submissions to review.
Guest jlowebcom Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 Hi all, Maybe you can help me, how do you "re-post" an old thread so that you can follow up on a site submission you made a while back. I'm trying to do that but can't seem to get my post to show up at the top of this queue. I notice that you are basically doing this in this post and continuing your thread.
Guest mars9820 Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 just find your post (a while back) and post a reply on the last message in the thread....I hope this helps you.
lachenm Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 And an easy way to find your old post is to click on your username on the side of your post, which takes you to your profile. Near the bottom of the page, you'll see a link titled "Show all user's posts". That way you don't have to wade through a long list of threads. You can also get to your profile by looking up your username in the "User List" (which has a link on the top of most pages on this site).
