geoff777 Posted April 18, 2004 Author Posted April 18, 2004 Hello, I submitted my site to this category http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Spain/Autonomous_Communities/Andalucia/Malaga/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Vacation_Rentals/ Can you tell me the submission status please. Thanks
thehelper Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 I am sorry but I do not see the submission waiting there. Also, there is no evidence that the submission has ever been touched by an editor. Either you submitted to a different category or something went wrong with the submission process. If you truly feel that the category you mentioned is best for your site then you should resubmit. Thanks.
geoff777 Posted June 21, 2004 Author Posted June 21, 2004 Please can you tell me the status of http://www.property-in-the-sun.com I submitted it to --- http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Spain/Autonomous_Communities/Andalucia/Malaga/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Vacation_Rentals/ Thank you. This is the second time I have submitted the site. I have been trying to get it listed so far unsucessfully for over four months!
bobrat Posted June 21, 2004 Posted June 21, 2004 You already have two threads started on this site - please review the forum guidelines. 04-09-2004, 09:13 AM http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13248 04-18-2004, 06:34 AM http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13724
geoff777 Posted June 28, 2004 Author Posted June 28, 2004 Why isn't submission status automated?? Why don't we get acknowledgement that initial submission process has been successful (auto responder)? Why don't we get updates of projected timescale before a human volounteer looks at our sites. It's okay wanting it to be a human not computer run directory but this is an inefficient way of doing things. Sure you will say its a computer resource problem but look at the huge companies behind this project! All I want to do is submit my site to try and improve its rankings. You can't expect me to search out and read obscure badly publicised guidelines. No insult to any humans meant but if I cant ask for six months something must be wrong YES??? Yours Geoff777
sole Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 The 6 month wait doesn't apply to you yet. The 6 month wait starts after we tell you that we have received the submission. Your submission has been received and deleted twice. However, that does not mean it is unlistable. One deletion was because you had two submissions waiting at the same time. (In late April.) The other was because the site did not seem to be suited for the category. Generally when a site does not fit one category, we send it to one where it fits better, but we don't always do that. It depends on how much value we think the site will add to the directory. You may submit again. The category you inquired about is for properties for rent. The site says nothing about renting out the property. I think you would do well to choose another category.
