Meta hutcheson Posted June 28, 2004 Meta Posted June 28, 2004 Convince someone who can edit in the parent category that such a subcategory (1) would be useful (2) can be justified based on the existance of websites to populate it, and (3) conforms to ODP guidelines. What did you have in mind?
mmmhome Posted June 29, 2004 Author Posted June 29, 2004 Bluray is the successor of the DVD. And I want this new category, maybe as editor. I have read many articles about this tropic. And I think I am a good person for this job. There are a lot of Bluraysites in the www. How can I found the e-mail of the editor of the category http://dmoz.org/Arts/Movies/Home_Video/DVD/ ? regards Markus Müller
xixtas01 Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Hmm. Sounds like a good idea for a category to me. You can apply to edit a category that does not yet exist. Here's a general description of how to do that. http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13630&highlight=new+category
Meta hutcheson Posted June 29, 2004 Meta Posted June 29, 2004 Is English your first language? You might be more effective as an editor in your native language. As for the location of the category, Bluray should probably be parallel to "DVD" and "Laserdisc": that is, one level up from where you suggested. One thing you could do is apply to be an editor for the parent category (Home Movies) with a list of sites that should go in the new category. Mention that you really want to edit a Bluray category -- we can create it for you at that point. (The form gives room for three sites; but mention at least three more in your "reason for wanting to be an editor." Half-a-dozen sites is ample justification for a new category.)
senox Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 FYI, there's also http://dmoz.org/Computers/Hardware/Storage/Optical/Resources/, depending on what the focus of the sites you'd like to suggest is.
