I tried to logon this morning and got the "Login Removed" message. On the page the following possible reasons were stated.

--Repeated failure to comply with the Open Directory community's editorial guidelines and policies.

--Continuous poor and/or abusive editing.

--Self-promotion and biased editing, including, but not limited to, cooling your own site, title or description manipulation, unfairly editing your own sites or those with which you are affiliated.

--Unfairly tampering with competitors' listings and submissions.

--Inability to function well within the Open Directory community.

--Uncivil and intentionally disruptive behavor.

--Violation of Open Directory forum and email privacy.

--Spamming the directory.

I can not believe I was removed as an editor. I was the editor for a local category and my actions were as clean as a whistle. I would periodically check the editors activities for other categories I submitted sites too, but I hardly think that is reason for being removed as an editor.

Is there an appeal process ?

See http://dmoz.org/guidelines/accounts.html#removal

Editor accounts may be removed by meta editors only after careful discussion, evaluation and consensus agreement. ODP staff review all account removal decisions made by the meta editors. Meta editors and ODP staff may revoke an editor’s privilege to edit one or more categories or otherwise limit an editor’s editorial privileges at their discretion. They may also remove an editor from the ODP entirely. Editors may submit feedback about any such decisions to ODP staff.
