Hi,

My site fitseek.com was listed in:

http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Pay-Per-Click_Advertising/Search_Engines/Specialized/

Then a major change happend to the category about two or three months ago and it got deleted.

I resubmitted again to the same category:

http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Pay-Per-Click_Advertising/Search_Engines/Specialized/

About two months ago and it is not listed yet.

I contacted the editor of:

http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Pay-Per-Click_Advertising/

and I got the following reply:

I will look into this as soon as I may. I had not been notified by Open Directory Project that I had been reinstated as an editor after being inactive for about four years. Apparently, communication is a problem.

Can you please check on it and let me know.

I really appreciate it.

Regards,

Tariq

Hmm, since a random check of your site reveals around 60% of the links to be affiliate links, your site is unlikely to be listed.

It was deleted from the unreviewed queue of Computers/Internet/Searching/Search_Engines/Specialized/Pay-Per-Click/Content-Specific and removed from Computers/Internet/Searching/Search_Engines/Specialized/Pay-Per-Click/Small-Scale_Pay-Per-Click in September for being mainly affiliate links.

Affiliate links!!!

All the results appear in the search result pages are for advertisers and results gathered from other search engines.

I am not sure what you mean by 60% affiliate links. I don't even have one affiliate link listed in our database.

Can you please clarify this more?

Just so you don't feel like you're being persecuted, I also visited your site to see if Beebs had randomly hit a bad category. The one I chose at random was Shiatsu, where I found 5 of the 10 links were affiliates. Then I deliberately picked one that I thought would not have many affiliate schemes available, Diabetic_Supplies, and found that 6 of the first 10 were affiliates.

What beebware said stands, your site is very unlikely to be listed.

Keep getting an invalid page

Hi,

I tried submitting my site http://www.fitseek.com to http://www.dmoz.com/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Pay-Per-Click_Advertising/Search_Engines/Specialized/

but I keep getting invalid page after filling out the submission form. Is there a way to know if it was received or do I need to re-submit?

I tried it twice and I got the same error. I hope that will not cause a problem.

Re: Keep getting an invalid page

Is there something wrong with the submission page. Until now I keep getting "Cannot find server or DNS Error" when I press on "Submit"

Re: Status: http://www.fitseek.com

Someone will get to it eventually.

[edited to add: be thankful that no one decided to do that right now since your site currently is just showing a "The SSL/TLS-aware Apache webserver was successfully installed on this website. " message. Had I been cleaning out the queue for that category in response to your "request", your site would have been deleted.]

Hello,

I would really appreciate it if you can give me a status on this site http://www.fitseek.com which was submitted more than two months ago "Again" to this category:

It's awaiting review in that category.

It has been more than two months now awaiting for a review. I have tried contacting the editors there and I got no response. Can someone take a look at it please.

Thank you.

We looked at it on 3/2. If you want a status check, come back after 4/2.

Editors rarely respond to submitters because experience and documented history has shown that entirely too many aggressive submitters get very, very nasty when they don't get the answer they want to hear.
