Guest Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 Another newby with lots of questions - I am wanting to setup a specific directory / vertical, and have found that Frontpge is able to , with relative ease, download smaller categories with relative ease. Now this idea works for me cause I am not terribly technical. The idea would be to download the small category, and sub-categories, and then rehash/makeover the site completely to fit my use... My big questions is that is this OK?, I am certainly not going to attempt it if it contravenese any rules, copywrites or otherwise - I look forward to any reply!
brmehlman Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 Yes, that is definitely OK, provided you do the things called for in item 2 of the open directory license at http://dmoz.org/license.html . 1. You need to include the attribution statement at http://dmoz.org/become_an_editor/ . 2. You need to include, with that attribution, a statement that you have made modifications to the data. Please read the entire license and be sure you can agree to its terms before you proceed. I'm not a lawyer, but I don't thing you'll find anything there to trouble you.
