ellison Posted August 8, 2004 Posted August 8, 2004 I would like to check on the submission of the site: http://www.l2massociates.com. The submission was made six months ago to the catagory: http://dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Consulting/ We are listed on Google, Alta Vista, etc. Best regards, Ellison
djdeeds Posted August 8, 2004 Posted August 8, 2004 Apparently the site has been suggested to more than one category beneath http://dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising . The suggestion to http://dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Consulting was deleted as a duplicate, and at least one now still remains waiting for review. The review will be based on the content of the site relative to the category and its value to our directory, and is independent of any other listings anywhere else.
ellison Posted September 17, 2004 Author Posted September 17, 2004 site status submission: www.l2massociates.com Hello dmoz, I built http://www.l2massociates.com in early 2003 and have been trying to get it listed with dmoz ever since. I've resubmitted twice as per email below over the last 16 months. First to: http://dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising and then I narrowed the request about 6 months later and resubmitted to a further subcategory: http://dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Avertising/Consulting, thinking that it would facilitate reviewing the site by being in a smaller subcategory. This second request has been removed as a duplicate, but I am wondering if the first request - to put the site in Marketing_and_Advertising - is too broad a category and is what is holding up the site submission decision? Should I do anything more from my end? Best regards, Ellison
dogbows Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 No, there is nothing you can do to speed the process. It will be reviewed when it is reviewed. All you can do is wait.
spectregunner Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 You may also be eligible for a listing within the Regional/ portion of our directory. You may submit once, and only once, to Regional/North_America/United_States/California/Localities/R/Redwood_City/Business_and_Economy/ Regional/ listings are considered separately from those within the topical sections of the directory, and placement is based solely on where a company is located. The acceptance or non-acceptance of a Regional/ listing has absolutely no impact on the consideration of the Business/ submission you made that is awaiting review. You may return to this thread 30 days after making the Regional/ submission to verify that it has been received and is in the submission pool. We will not give you a further update on your Business/ submission at that time, since you are not eligible for another staus check on that submission until on or after March 17 (probably after, given our collective fondness for green beer.)
