charms123 Posted July 3, 2004 Posted July 3, 2004 Status of Body Jewelry site www.nipplecharms.com Hello all. I hope I am in the correct area. If not, I am sure someone will let me know. That said, about 10 months ago I submitted my site, with no response to day. The site is located @ Non Piercing Nipple Jewelry to DMOZ. I submitted it to Top: Shopping: Jewelry: Body dmoz.org/Shopping/Jewelry (why is this not a link?) About 4-5 months ago I offered to be an editor. Again, no response. I am not sure if one of my competitors is an editor and is precluding us from being added (which I doubt), or there are just that many site trying of that category. Can anyone help? Or at least let me know what to do next? Thanks for your time. Michael
Meta kokopeli Posted July 3, 2004 Meta Posted July 3, 2004 It doesn't need to be coded, you can just type in the location: http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Jewelry/Body Your suggestion was received and is currently pending review in that area.
charms123 Posted July 4, 2004 Author Posted July 4, 2004 Dear kokopeli, That easy? And I tried that too! http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Jewelry Also, thanks for checking on our site. Do you have any idea what the time frame might be? A week, a few hours, 3 months? Just curious. Thanks for taking the time to check. Michael
Meta hutcheson Posted July 4, 2004 Meta Posted July 4, 2004 Sorry, there's never an idea when it will happen. But...I'm not sure how to say this...we have even less of an idea in Shopping/Jewelry than in many areas. You can check back here in six months for another status; that may relieve anxiety but won't affect the time to review. Other than that, no, there's not really anything to do. Editors are at work ... somewhere ... and that's all that is needed now.
charms123 Posted July 4, 2004 Author Posted July 4, 2004 I guess becoming an editor in that category and working on my own site is out of the question? Any idea why that category is so backed up? Thanks Michael
Meta kokopeli Posted July 4, 2004 Meta Posted July 4, 2004 Some categories, especially in places like shopping, get more submissions than others. Editors are volunteer and edit when and where their interests lie, there is no specific time table. If you are interested in editing, you can visit here.
charms123 Posted August 8, 2004 Author Posted August 8, 2004 Thanks for everyones continued help. I was hoping someone could give me the status of our site, http://www.nipplecharms.com. It has been a good 7-8 months since the last time we have submitted. Thanks for your help, nikki xxoo
brmehlman Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 This thread has been moved because the content of the site is a much better match for Adult/Shopping/Jewelry, where it is awaiting review.
charms123 Posted August 9, 2004 Author Posted August 9, 2004 Can you please move back.... I see that most many of my competitors are not in the adult but regular shopping area. They too have models showing/wearing the jewelry..... http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Shopping_and_Services/Jewelry/Body_Jewelry/Non_Piercing/ can you please move it back to here because this is a much better match. thanks michael
charms123 Posted August 9, 2004 Author Posted August 9, 2004 thanks thanks michael http://www.nipplecharms.com
brmehlman Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 Judgement call on my part, something about the way she's holding her tits to show off the jewelry. Oh, yeah, that and the cock rings.
charms123 Posted April 12, 2005 Author Posted April 12, 2005 Over 6 months Hey all, It has been over 6 months since I last stood on my head and howled at the wind... (And if you saw me you would know that is not an easy feat!) Can anyone help me with my listing? Give me some feedback? Suggest some other area other than body jewelry? Tell me to pay (some editor actually suggested he could do that for $$$). No I didn’t pay. PLEASE, we would be most appreciative of any intelligent guidance. Thanks Michael www.nipplecharms.com
charms123 Posted April 14, 2005 Author Posted April 14, 2005 URL direction sorry Try here...? http://dmoz.org/Adult/Shopping/Jewelry/ Thanks everyone M
Meta nea Posted April 15, 2005 Meta Posted April 15, 2005 Sorry you didn't get a response the first time; your site is waiting for review in that category. Sorry not to have better news. :moz: Curlie Meta and kMeta editor nea
charms123 Posted April 15, 2005 Author Posted April 15, 2005 Ok, how do i get to be an editor in that area? Its been 18 months, maybe longer. What is the deal? Do i re-submit the site again? do you know how far back it is? any time line? anyone? bueller? bueller? M
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted April 15, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted April 15, 2005 Ok, how do i get to be an editor in that area? The same way become an editor in any area. Suggest 2-3 sites that belong there, are not presently listed, and give suitable titles and descriptions. There seem to be fewer active metas than there used to be, and fewer still who are active in Adult, so you would need to be patient. Do i re-submit the site again? do you know how far back it is? any time line? No. Editors can order the sites in a number of ways, so the question is almost meaningless. No. See the FAQs for answers to those questiosn.
charms123 Posted April 16, 2005 Author Posted April 16, 2005 Dear Arubin, Thanks for your reply. I have done everything you suggest and that what is expected in that area, to be an editor, at least 3 times. I gave a review of my site and 2 others (my competitors should thank me.) I heard nothing from the "powers-that-be.) I have read all the FAQ's, all the forums and everything else. I still have not seen anything empirical that tells me there is any reason to how a site gets listed. I don't want to pi$$ anyone off but this is getting to be epidemic. Do I really pay an editor from another section to add my site, just to add it? I do not like to do that. I know its done, and done often. You can go into any of the "freelance" SEO sites and if you are cryptic enough, you will get two or 3 people to offer to "help" you get listed. And we all know what the help means. Am I venting? Maybe. Feels good actually. Now if it was not 11:16AM I would have a drink and a cigar (and I don’t smoke) and just chill out! WOW that really does make me feel better OK, if anyone else has anything to add to help me, please let me know. Thanks again, M http://www.nipplecharms.com
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted April 17, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted April 17, 2005 Do I really pay an editor from another section to add my site, just to add it? I'm sure it's happened, but how many of those who would volunteer to help you would, in fact, send the site along to our banned list? You don't know who you're dealing with on the net? As for editor applications -- I'm been waiting a while for the answer to an Adult question on our internal forum, and there are fewer who could approve an Adult application than could answer the question. There is Now -- if you've heard nothing, you should ask in a separate thread in this (Adult) forum about your status. If you've received rejection notices, you need to read those carefully, as they usually provide useful information, even though it may not appear so at first glance.

But editors nearly NEVER write a reason for rejection...
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted April 18, 2005 Editall/Catmv Posted April 18, 2005 I can't speak for "hardly ever", but my first editor application was declined, and the reason given made sense.
