Guest thx2 Posted December 21, 2002 Posted December 21, 2002 I submitted my site iinfosearch to this DMOZ catagory about 15 months ago, then again within the last 6 months. I thought I read just about all their is to read on how to get listed, but I must have done something wrong to be waiting this long. Any help, status, or advise on how to get listed would be appreciated. Thank you Noah
Khym_Chanur Posted December 21, 2002 Posted December 21, 2002 Re: Did I screw up or is iinfosearch.com in the qu It was published in Business/Industries/Security/Special_Services/ on December 6. Your submissions to Business/Industries/Security/Investigation/ and Business/Industries/Security/Investigation/Records_Research/ were deleted.
motsa Posted December 21, 2002 Posted December 21, 2002 Re: Did I screw up or is iinfosearch.com in the qu Actually, that category link should read http://dmoz.org/Business/Business_Services/Security/Special_Services . To clarify Khym_Chanur's post, though, your site was listed in that category in Dec of 2000 (i.e. two years ago) but was deleted a few months later.
Guest thx2 Posted December 21, 2002 Posted December 21, 2002 Re: Did I screw up or is iinfosearch.com in the qu Thanks for the prompt replies. But now I'm confused? When I tried to search for my domain name I get: Search: http://iinfosearch.com No Open Directory Project results found Should I resubmit, or can someone take a look and add me to the appropriate category? Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Noah
Guest Posted December 21, 2002 Posted December 21, 2002 Re: Did I screw up or is iinfosearch.com in the qu Go to the category and LOOK for the listing. The search is unreliable, but your eyes are good (I hope).
Guest thx2 Posted December 21, 2002 Posted December 21, 2002 Did I screw up or is iinfosearch.com in the queue Hi, well I went to http://dmoz.org/Business/Business_Services/Security/Special_Services/ and looked and looked and did not see my listing. I didn't even realize I submitted 2 years ago. Man how time flies. I'm not even sure the descriptions for the catagories was there back then? Anyway, I searched several catagories and can't find my site any longer. The more I read the descriptions of catagories, I believe my site belongs in http://dmoz.org/Society/People/Missing_People/Locator_Services/. If I missed something please let me know. I know you guys are busy and donate your time but if someone could post the actual link where my site is listed that would really be great, or, if someone could move it to /Society/People/Missing_People/Locator_Services/ it would be very much appreciated. iinfosearch.com offers valuable information and content compared to our competitors. We're a real company with our phone number and contact information clearly listed on the site. We know it's important to provide timely results and good customer service. THANK YOU EDITORS FOR ALL YOUR HELP WITH THIS!!!
Meta windharp Posted December 21, 2002 Meta Posted December 21, 2002 Re: Did I screw up or is iinfosearch.com in the queue Hmmmm..... Best move would be to start again and pretend all the above isnt there. Reading our logs can be quite confusing sometimes, especially when categories change their names in between and several submissions are sorted around... I think motsa wanted to say the same as I do here, but i seems it was not clear enough. Your site has been listed in the above Business/ category for some months 2000 to 2001, then has been moved on, and - something that may happen in a coimmunity with thousands of different editors, but we all hate to see it - was deleted from the unreviewed queue there for being an inapropriate submission for that category. *Sigh* So back to anwering your original question, your site is waiting in the Society/ category you mentioned above - its one of the oldest submissions there, so I assume that an editor coming around to do some work there would process it in the first batch. Since all are volunteers and the order is not necessarily by date we cant promise anything. Curlie Meta/kMeta Editor windharp

Hopefully it will get some attention in the near future.
Guest thx2 Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 Any updates? Hello.. Just inquiring about my submission www.iinfosearch.com. I was just wondering if there was any way to find out if that queue has been reviewed by any editors lately. And if not, how long it's been. I submitted to http://dmoz.org/Society/People/Missing_People/Locator_Services/ quite a while ago so I'm just patiently looking for an update every once in a while. Thanks much....
donaldb Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 Re: Any updates? Doesn't look like I'm going to be making your day The good news is that it's still in the queue waiting for review. The bad news is that there are a lot of sites in that queue waiting for review
