I know its a little early

I know its a little early but I was hoping that I might be able to ask for a status update. I'm just looking for a more realistic date of when it will be added. Thanks so much! :)

I see no change in status since the last report. Sorry not to have better news. :(

You may ask again in this thread in 6 months.

As to the second question, we can't even tell whether, let alone when, it might be added. That's dependent on a review, and we don't ever know when an editor will volunteer to work in that category ... or how they'll choose what sites to review first.

I don't know what is going on. I applied to be an editor for this category and I am more than qualified. I submitted several sites that I am not affiliated with and are not listed in the directory yet was rejected from being an editor without a reason.

Are editor applications reviewed by more than 1 person? Who reviewed mine? If this category is so desperate for editors why reject a perfectly qualified one with no reason at all?

There is no reason for you to suppose that the category is desperate for editors. You may be desperate for someone to edit it, but that is not something that would ever concern either the category or the surfing community.

There is no reason for you to suppose that your rejection was without a reason. The ODP gets lots of editor applications. Really incompetent, implausible, or incomplete ones are quickly rejected with a form letter, so that the many editors who can process applications can focus on the serious applications by possibly competent people.

Ethics is an important qualification, and the psychological concept of "projection" is, I think, relevant here.

Perhaps "desperate" was too strong of a word. However I was going on what you said: "we don't ever know when an editor will volunteer to work in that category." So given the fact that there is no editor working in that category I came to the conclusion that an editor was needed in that category.

Anyways... I will just try again later I suppose

Oh, try being a little friendlier. These forums could use it.
