Guest GoldnGate Posted December 23, 2002 Posted December 23, 2002 I submitted www.goldngate.com over a month ago to the following category: http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/California/Metro_Areas/San_Francisco_Bay_Area/Arts_and_Entertainment/ And notice no editor has visited this cat since sept 20 and would appreciate an update as to how our submission is progressing. Thanks in advance for your cooperation
motsa Posted December 23, 2002 Posted December 23, 2002 You're in the queue. Note: I take it the animations in the gallery are strictly for Windows platforms? You should probably make a note of that -- it'll save problems with editors/surfers on non-Windows platforms thinking that there is nothing on the site.
Guest GoldnGate Posted December 23, 2002 Posted December 23, 2002 Thank you for the prompt reply to my query, and for the recommendation. We have noted which browsers are best suited to view the animations. Best wishes for a Happy, Safe, and Peaceful Holiday Season to all those who volunteer and keep DMOZ an ongoing entity, your efforts are truely respected and appreciated.
motsa Posted December 23, 2002 Posted December 23, 2002 You've noted which browsers but not which platforms. I'm using a Macintosh and I can't view the animations...so for me, your site is essentially empty (according to http://www.visviva.com/, they are still working on their non-Windows plugins). Just thought you might like to put a note in the browser/CPU recommendations that states that the animations are only viewable in Windows.
Guest GoldnGate Posted December 23, 2002 Posted December 23, 2002 Thank you again for your overview and recommendations, and I have added a notification, to that aspect.
dfy Posted December 28, 2002 Posted December 28, 2002 I'd put the "Windows only" notification on each gallery entry page, and I'd also change it to something like "These animations require the VAE plugin which is currently not available for Macintosh or linux systems". This would make sure that users see it (I missed it when I went in for a look) and is also more explanatory.
Guest GoldnGate Posted January 16, 2003 Posted January 16, 2003 I noted that an editor Last updated this category on : 21:01 PT, Wednesday, January 15, 2003, and would like to know the status of our submission? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Guest GoldnGate Posted January 16, 2003 Posted January 16, 2003 Thanks for the update and clarification
rwkat Posted January 17, 2003 Posted January 17, 2003 Hiya GoldnGate, Just wanted to let you know that a team of editors is currently working the backlog in SF Metro Area. Can't say right now when your site will be reviewed, but hopefully it helps to know that people *are* working the area. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />
