aspwiz Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 Hi. I am requesting a status of http://www.webforumz.com I submitted it to the http://www.dmoz.com/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Chats_and_Forums/ category. I tried this category over a year ago, and re-submitted again a few weeks ago. On another note... since submitting, the site has changed slightly in that it now offers articles relating to web design / development. The forums have been moved from the root of the site, to http://www.webforumz.com/webforums.asp Will I need to resubmit with the above change to the url? I am going mad trying to get this site listed. Also, is it allowed to submit to other categories where relevant (not for forums, but for the articles sections of my site) Thank you in advance for your help and advice.
donwiebe Posted August 18, 2004 Posted August 18, 2004 I [...] re-submitted again a few weeks ago. Then you'll have to wait a few more weeks before getting a status update. Per the [thread=396]forum guidelines[/thread] which you should have read before posting here, you are required to wait at least a month after your last submission before asking for its status.
aspwiz Posted September 14, 2004 Author Posted September 14, 2004 Request Status : www.webforumz.com Hi... Can someone give me update on this site's status, I believe it's now one month since submission. The only thing is the site has changed slightly and I think it's changed to a degree where I need to select a different category and description. Sorry if anyone feels as though I'm messing DMOZ around, but I've expanded the site to offer more than just forums. If it is the case I need to resubmit, how long do I wait... can I do it now, and if so, do I need to take any action to cancel the outstanding submission? How do I proceed?
Meta nea Posted September 14, 2004 Meta Posted September 14, 2004 The site is waiting for review there. If you now think it would be better placed in another category, you may go ahead and resubmit it there. Two submissions will not make you a spammer, but to let the editors know which category is your preferred one you can add something like [replaces submission to Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Chats_and_Forums] at the end of your suggested description. aspwiz Posted September 14, 2004 Author Posted September 14, 2004 Thanks Hi Nea.... I have done as you suggested. I have submitted again to the relevant category. I did not have the option of giving info to the editor, which I'm sure I should have done. I had to email the category editor to let him know it was a submission to replace another. Thanks again for you help Nea
