muna580 Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Can someone tell me the status of this website?? URL: http://s4.invisionfree.com/MSH_Study_Help/ Category: http://www.dmoz.org/Kids_and_Teens/School_Time/
dogbows Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Please read the forum guidelines before posting and provide the required clickable link to the category you suggested the site. The information you provided is just not enough for an editor to check.

dogbows Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Thank you, muna. See that wasn't so hard was it? However, I do not have editing rights in that section, so another editor who does will have to come along and give you your status check.
muna580 Posted August 19, 2004 Author Posted August 19, 2004 I don't know how this review process works, so can you tell me when is the next time i can post again and ask for a status??
Editall/Catmv arubin Posted August 19, 2004 Editall/Catmv Posted August 19, 2004 6 months. The site may or may not be listed by then.
muna580 Posted August 19, 2004 Author Posted August 19, 2004 wow, it takes 6 months for my site to be listed under all the search engines??
Editall Callimachus Posted August 19, 2004 Editall Posted August 19, 2004 I think you are perhaps labouring under a misconception. Submitting a site to ODP (DMOZ) is only a suggestion for inclusion in the Directory. It guarantees no inclusion in our Directory or any other search facility/engine (which we are not) and extends no submissions beyond us. As several search engines use our data, it often turns out that sites listed in ODP are indexed on an (ir)regular basis by the SE's. If you wish to submit your site to specific search engines, then you will have to do it yourself, or have one of the many sites/firms/individuals who do SE submissions do it. Sites submitted dto ODP may be reviewed in the next 5 minutes, 6 months, or more - depending on the category and the work load of the editors. 6 months is a guideline to re-inquire after submitting so that there is a reasonable time period and people aren't asking every second day about their submissions (and some would, not necessarily you) which only takes away from time editors would likely otherwise spend working on the directory. ODP Editor callimachus Any opinions expressed are my own, and do not represent an official opinion or communication from the ODP. Private messages asking for submission status or preferential treatment will be ignored.
muna580 Posted August 27, 2004 Author Posted August 27, 2004 Can you do a recheck on my status for both on dmoz and on the other search engines?
Meta nea Posted August 27, 2004 Meta Posted August 27, 2004 No, as arubin and Callimachus said, we ask all submitters to wait 6 months between status reports. You are welcome back on or after February 20, if you haven't seen your site listed by then! We can't answer any questions about search engines. Anything that has to do with sites other than dmoz.org you will have to ask about at those sites. Curlie Meta and kMeta editor nea
muna580 Posted August 27, 2004 Author Posted August 27, 2004 so can i aleast get the status from dmoz
Meta pvgool Posted August 27, 2004 Meta Posted August 27, 2004 That answer was given by sole in reply #8 I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
bobrat Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 It seems you are having some trouble understanding. 1. You cannot get any more answers here until six months from 08-19-2004, 06:47 PM - which would be sometime after February 18, 2005. 2. If your site is not listed by then, come back to this thread and ask again. 3. This has nothing to do with the time required to list your site, which can by anytime from 1 minute from now, to several years from now, or never. 4. If you still do not understand, please read the forum guidelines http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=396 and/or the FAQ http://resource-zone.com/forum/faq.php?
